Sorry eeyore , there was an unstated assumption that someone wanted to deploy sufficient funds that the 2.7% allocation would be more than the £50 minimum. E.g. if someone wanted to deploy £10k and they set their maximum pledge size to the highest allowed (20% of £10k = £2k), then they would get £54 per loan (2.7% of £2k). It would take 185 loans to deploy the £10k at £54 per loan. Ace, thanks for the explanation - I think I understand enough to still believe that the simplest and most efficient approach is to 'drip feed' my cash account with £500 whenever the balance drops below £50! (And I'd still have £6k out of the £10k sitting in my savings accounts/Loanpad/AC-QAA/etc earning interest.) On the basis of your figures, it would take c15 months to invest £10k, but if the average lifetime of a CrowdProperty loan is less than 15 months, the recycling of repaid capital would mean that the maximum that any single account ( using autolend alone) could invest in CrowdProperty loans is less than £10k. Hmmm... Agreed, but the example was based on the oversimplified assumption that every loan gave a 2.7% autoinvest allocation, which in reality won't be true. There will be some large loans where much larger allocations are granted. I haven't done the analysis to determine what the recent average percentage is, (which probably wouldn't be a good predictor of future allocations anyway), but I expect that its a bit more than 2.7%. I still think it would be tricky for a new investor to get more than £10k deployed without using manual invest though. By the way, I think that the minimum deposit of £500 only applies to your initial deposit, so you can make more frequent smaller deposits if you want to keep more of your funds earning elsewhere until they can be deployed on CP.

Thanks for that info - the CrowdProperty deposit instructions say " Minimum amount required for Auto Invest is £500" which confused this old donkey who doesn't have much mental capacity beyond where's the next thistle coming from... I've just transferred £5 from my bank account and the cash amount available in my AutoInvest account has risen by £5 - success! That'll make the cashflow into CrowdProperty a lot smoother.

It is one of the good points about CP that deposits are as good as instant. I tend to transfer enough for the weeks loans on the morning of the first offer. One of the bad points with CP is a wonderous disconnect between updates about repayments and money being in accounts. So I do tend to log in and see what my balance is before adding, sometimes I can withdraw instead. Another good point deposits are pretty quick as well.

It looks like deploying funds might get even harder. £2,877k repaid this week and only £675k in loans scheduled for the coming week.

I was just reading one of your older threads to see if it was possible to increase the max autopledge size without leaving a lot of unused cash sitting in the account but it doesnt look as if I can. It is a real shame as it looks as if there is not going to be any manual pledges for a while.

Crowdproperty got their investor strategy absolutely spot on : IFISA , Free ISA transfers In AND Out, Flexible IFISA, Pledging with zero balance, Equitable rates, No IFISA account fees/premium, Instant payments in or out. Loans are being filled by 2500 investors and they can't procure them quick enough or big enough to satisfy new or turnover demand. Nice headache to have.
One or more of these elements missing from other platforms is exactly what is stopping me from investing. I'm not one for compromise or being taken for a ride.

One item missing from your list is sound security. IMHO more important than any of those you mention. Those with a few years experience in p2p will remember other platforms where investors were fighting for a share of loans eg L, MT, FS etc.

In mid March I was 20% uninvested on CP, and seriously considering taking ISA funds off the platform. However I saw there were big loans with the possibility of manual pledges coming soon, so I hung on. Today I am fully pledged, with uninvested funds down to 8%, so I'm happy with the recent flow of new loans. I do hope they keep it up.

Another cock-up on today's loan. Autoinvest pledges are being reduced by a third. Presumably they over-allocated. The loan is showing as having 3620 investors, which seems unlikely, and is probably indicative of the problem.
