A rare occasion I agree with you and disagree with the Right Honourable Sir Ozyboy. You missed all the rape, and sexual crime including against children are almost exclusively men. I don't agree with Greenwood2 that they do it because it is "easier for them as they are bigger and stronger." Genitalmen, you have missed a key part of my posting. :- "Females are consistently treated far more leniently than men for similar crimes."
A case I know of of fraud by mother against son, she forged his signature and drew money from his account ( setup for him by his grandparents to help him if he went to university), she was charged by Police, she then repeated the same offence again within a week ! If went to court magistrates said it needed to go to crown court, In Court she was told that were she a man she would have been sent to jail for at least 6 months given the aggravating factors including forcing her own son to give evidence against her and her refusal to accept guilt. She was then given a conditional discharge! and an order to repay the £5,000 taken at 50p a week. The young man concerned was devastated by the betrayal, but found the strength to challenge NS&I for allowing a repeat after he had written to then following the first offence saying he did not want anyone other than himself to be able to draw funds from his account. It took him 18 months with support from his dad but eventually NS&I admitted culpability and applied to the court for the order to be changed to them and they repaid the young man. How do I know so many details of the case, that young man was my son, the perpetrator my ex ( she'd been my ex for some time )

Individual cases are interesting but, at the end of day they are not information on which one should design strategy

A racehorse owner admitted to having “a few quid” on the 6-5 favourite who was backed in one £400,000 bet to win £580,000 with the Brighton-based bookmaker firm Star Sports after the horse jumped beautifully and won the race.

I suppose women are more likely to have children and be the main or only parent. That may inform decisions that Judges take when deciding whether to incarcerate leading to an "imbalance" in sentencing.

Yep, no matter how inebriated Katie "just another snort for the road" Price might get, nor the trail of carnage she leaves in her wake, she still somehow manages to avoid jail. How many times has she been allowed to keep her licence until now? I've lost count. As a less worthy sub-species of humanity, everyday law-abiding Sussex cyclists and pedestrians are predicted to evolve faster reaction times than their peers, a survival trait from living in daily fear of her airborne car. Does that mean that, in my terms, I bet £5 on the horse winning and won £6?
Or??

😅 I wasn’t paying attention on his winnings.
Sounds like he’s got better price than 6/5. He made his fortune betting professionally.

If he won £1.80 for each £4 staked, then surely the odds were 9/2?

9/2, decimal odds is 5.5. Bet 10 @ 9/2 and win, get £55 in return, profit £45

I stand corrected. This is why I don't gamble.
That, and the fact I'm not stupid.

I rather bet £1000 @ 9/2 with a bookmaker and lay £1000 @ 4.5 on exchange, it’s a free bet.
