Another crypto scandal from a company I've never heard of.
Thousands of people are believed to have lost their savings after investing in a cryptocurrency trading app called iEarn Bot:
- they were told their investment would be handled by the company's artificial intelligence programme, guaranteeing high returns.
- they were pressurised to sign up new customers
- when a country reached saturation point no withdrawls were possible
- people were told if they paid a 30% fee up front they could get their money out. Those that paid the 30% got nothing back.
I'm tempted to say one born every minute, but I just don't think there are enough minutes in the day.

where are you getting 9/2 ? My total muck-up of a calculation. Ahh I meant to ask which betting shop was offering that price. Not how are you arriving at that figure. Sorry my question wasn't clearer.

For those that thought that administrators had their snouts in the trough, 3 members of a family racked up legal bills of over £1m while arguing about a cottage worth £245k.

This over use of lawyers to solve problems is more common than you might think. Mrs Bobo is a lawyer and regularly tells customers "don't litigate" and still they insist on giving her work.
Humans really struggle with the idea of coming to an agreement rather than going to war. Such stupidity will be become more obvious as climate change digs in. "my water", "my food", "my international sea" etc

Sometimes it's partners though When I went through my first divorce we had several "mediation" meeting to sort stuff, we would come to agreements but when she went home I would get a call from the mediator 24 hours of so later saying "she wants to step back on her position on X,Y,Z, but would like you to maintain your current position and negotiate from there" IMHO the mediator should have made it lea to her if she stepped back then it was reasonable that I would too.

I start to wonder if people resolve matters themselves with some Champagne Afternoon tea in Ritz would be cheaper than going through lawyers and mediators, reaching amicable settlements.

Also -
An SNP media chief has resigned in a row over the party's membership numbers - after it denied the figure had dropped by 30,000. Murray Foote had described press reports about the numbers last month as "inaccurate" and "drivel". The SNP confirmed yesterday that membership had fallen to 72,186 from the 104,000 it had two years ago

I think the resignation was as much in disgust and integrity as anything else. From what I read, by common consent they were hung out to dry by Peter Murrell and the the party machine by having been given false numbers / statements.
