An SNP media chief has resigned in a row over the party's membership numbers - after it denied the figure had dropped by 30,000. Murray Foote had described press reports about the numbers last month as "inaccurate" and "drivel". The SNP confirmed yesterday that membership had fallen to 72,186 from the 104,000 it had two years ago This was a couple of days ago. I think the resignation was as much in disgust and integrity as anything else. From what I read, by common consent they were hung out to dry by Peter Murrell and the the party machine by having been given false numbers / statements. I recall reading the phrase 'thrown under the bus' being used.
Given that team Murrell / Sturgeon appear to be becoming a toxic brand, I wonder how that will reflect on the chances of their preferred candidate Mr Yousaf

Bit late to the party Nicola: we're already having LOADS of fun. Who are those 3 unknowns vying for leadership ? The one who has upset much of your core base by coming out against gay marriage and sprogging out of wedlock. That is those who weren't already seriously upset by putting blokes in womens prisons and insisting anyone has the right to identify to any gender. And who's that guy that was completely bemused that those Ukrainian women refugees weren't accompanied by 'their men', and thought it sensible to ask them where they were ? And what about that 3rd candidate ? No, I can't think of anything memorable about her either.
Talking of the 'core base', how many is that again ? Do we actually know ? And what about that missing £600k ? No doubt now you've shed the reins of power, I'm sure you will be looking to have plenty of fun in the Stugeon household over the next 12 months.

So I'm getting to the end of my South East Asian holiday (Cheap Vietnamese cheeseburgers and all that jazz). I've hardly seen a cloud in the sky for the last 4 weeks but it's reasuring to see that when I return to Devon on Friday it will be p*ssing it down.
I'm staying in the touristy part of Bangkok and I'm wandering around trying to find somewhere for me tea that doesn't start with the letter Mac. By accident (honestly guv) I happen upon one of those dodgy establishments that you read about in the media. Outside there was a sign that said 'live on stage 20 gorgeous ladies'. As I got a bit closer I could see that there was some smaller writing below that said 'and 40 ugly ones'. I was tempted to take one for the team and go inside, but I don't think my pensioner eardrums could have survived the racket.
Note to self: next time you go on holiday remember to pack ear plugs and noise cancelling headphones.

Any travel company recommendations? I'm looking at Vietnam/Cambodia/Laos but getting a bit lost in it all....don't want a tour but also don't want the hassle of organising everything myself. Still dining out on 30 year old memories of Bangkok and feel no urge to return

? I'm looking at Vietnam/Cambodia/Laos but getting a bit lost in it all....don't want a tour but also don't want the hassle of organising everything myself. Still dining out on 30 year old memories of Bangkok and feel no urge to return I organise everything myself.
