Starmer hypocrisy. Disgusted that the LTA is being scrapped for others, whilst enjoying that same benefit for himself. Can't find the Guardian report on this, for some reason... A day later. Scroll down to below the advert: "The Labour leader also announced on Thursday that he would give up the tax-exempt status he enjoys on contributions to his pension from his time as director of public prosecutions.
Starmer had been accused of hypocrisy for taking advantage of the special status of the DPP pension while also promising to tax others who contribute more than £1m to their pension pot over a lifetime.
But he said on Thursday he would forgo his tax exemption if he were elected prime minister at the next election, saying: “I’m very happy to be – and will be – in the same position as everybody else in this country.”
Tom McPhail, a pensions expert at the financial consultancy the Lang Cat, said Starmer’s decision could cost him tens of thousands of pounds before his retirement in extra tax payments."

I normally mock the DT but this makes for interesting reading
the idea of a pension cap is crazy, but then I also think the idea of capital gains tax as crazy

Also deplorable is IPT, the tax on insurance premiums. Those prudent types who try to limit their dependence on the state, who do the decent thing and insure themselves against all manner of perils which might befall them, get clobbered with a tax for their troubles! It's about time this pernicious tax was axed. I see no justification for it.

Following someone is now to be an offence. I sometimes feel awkward late in the evening if someone joins my path just in front of me and proceeds to walk at my pace. Now its to be a crime? Should I stand still for a bit but then I risk blocking the person behind me - also a new offence. This has surely been considered before and rejected. I wonder how many arrests there will be for "following" ? www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-65065154

Just saying. It's a consistent pattern of posting. Your interpretation takes it to a logical absurdity which does not appear to be part of the actual intended law, nor I would expect its practical application. Quote: The private member's bill will criminalise:
Deliberately walking closely behind someone as they walk home at night
Making obscene or aggressive comments towards a person in the street
Making obscene or offensive gestures towards a person in the street
Obstructing someone's path
Driving or riding a vehicle slowly near someone making a journeyThe situation you describe would quite obviously not fit any of that.

A desperate politician wanting to be prime minister making promises about anything that will get him elected, yawn, same old repeat. Why doesn't he do it now or why hasn't he done it before now if it is such a noble thing to do.
What is he promising to do anyway, I fell asleep when he started talking ?!

I've made no attack or judgement. Simply pointed out an observation.

Can I get done for following if I'm in a queue of traffic ? Not unless you are all following the same woman.

A new startup granted with FCA blessing and 40 mil seed money appeared on the news of P2P in less than 3 years.
This ethical entity has already got B Corp sticker but I can’t see why it has anything to do with p2p lending, it does not accept p2p lenders.
