Nice to know you can trust labour with the economy, all their plans add up and have been properly costed. Just when in a moment of dispare with Boris i thought could i vote that way, maybe, NO! I could never contemplate voting labour because I was self employed from the age of 24, when I started my first company. The labour party are only for people in the public sector unions, idiotic lefty academics who think themselves superior and those living on benefits. I have always voted to keep them out so conservative in England and plaid cymru when living in Wales.

Apologies if you were both being sarcastic and I misread it but wouldn't removing a tax on something that's being used for social benefit and consequently making the product cheaper be the opposite of Socialism and consequently right in line with Tory policy and not something you'd expect Labour to propose?
I thought the point being made was that the money used for this would still have to come from somewhere, especially seeing as the main reason VAT receipts were up this year was due to deferred payments from last year being made.

I don't know much about this but if you think you were overlooked for the post because of your race I would hope for some information about why you were the better candidate, not just it was racist. Likewise I know nothing about the other candidates. Oh R-ace... I must wear my spectacles. I thought it was the F word , but that was only relevant in the noughties. Hell hath no worse fury than a woman scorned , for whatever reason or motive. We take it personally, whereas males just write it off as a case of mistaken identity. The exception being Sport.....but they are all Big Girls Blouses anyway. She needs to learn to boogie.

hear an MP seriously suggest over Christmas that if they were in power they would use the extra money the government is getting from VAT on Gas and Electricity, as bills have increased, to reduce the VAT on Gas and Electricity bills to 0%Got any source for that, or even a name? That would be the Shadow Chancellor Rachel Reeves

Got any source for that, or even a name? That would be the Shadow Chancellor Rachel Reeves The article makes it clear that she's referring to the £3.1bn received since October, covering the estimated £2.4bn cost of removing VAT from now until Spring. Well, that seems to make sense... A link to the HoC Library research would have been nice, though.

Prince Andrew is a 'thoroughly good man' says Sarah Ferguson Oh dear. That's poor old Andrew sunk then. Rather smacks of a football manger getting a vote of confidence from the board..... Given that Maxwell was (allegedly) given around $30m dollar by Epstein, how much do we think Prince Andrew has been throwing to Sarah Ferguson over the years to keep her quiet ?

To put that into perspective, that's a clip from ITV's "Lorraine" daytime TV, as shared by OK! magazine... (Has there ever been a less over-optimistically named publication?)

So did Epstein pay £15k to buy off somebody who was owed £78k, or did Epstein clear her £5m debts completely?

I used to find The Mash amusing but sadly it seems to have gone downhill with much reliance on swear words with ***, now I think that The Babylon Bee is much more fun. Interesting interview with Elon Musk.

So did Epstein pay £15k to buy off somebody who was owed £78k, or did Epstein clear her £5m debts completely? Thanks for sending me down that rabbit hole . I originally thought it was just 15K but there's not much info on how she went from that, through "restructuring" to "debt free" is there. But I mean, 15K is/was literally nothing to Epstein or Andrew so why use Epstein the convicted child sex offender's cash? I've just deleted a long ramble about this but, in a nutshell the whole thing's absolutely mad and the one I feel most sorry for, secondarily of course to Epstein's victims, is the Queen having to deal with this BS on her doorstep.
