www.bbc.co.uk/sport/rugby-union/65383555interesting line at the end "Begbies Traynor also says the concept of rugby creditors does not exist under the act. In fact, it is fundamentally at odds with certain insolvency principles." i've argued this before that rugby, football, cricket etc, should not have a rule that says "our creditors take priority, and must be paid in full before any reincarnation can take place" it is obvious this rule is at odds with insolvency law

Forsooth, doest thou findst it grindeth thy gears, my liege? I do agree, but have to remind myself that language is a living, evolving medium and we are a mentally lazy lot. In a few years, I predict the construct "you're" will disappear completely, to be replaced everywhere by "your". Sadly, it has largely already done so on social media... the one that bugs ne is the interchangeability of our and are as in "this is are new car""are friend John" I don't recall ever seeing that one. Misuse of double negatives is the one that sticks out most for me, as in "I ain't got no chips". "Of" instead of "have" is a close second as in "he should of tried harder". I hope "ne" instead of "me" doesn't catch on! 😉

"Of" instead of "have" is a close second as in "he should of tried harder". especially if you say "ok give me one then, and try to explain the concept of double negatives" Sports commentators seem to be prone to using the wrong words. one that is catching on here is the use of feds instead of Police, as in "he got done by the feds"

I see that Donald Trump is back in court, this time facing allegations of rape from Journalist Jean Carroll. Court documents already made public have shown that in a sworn deposition Trump mistakenly identified Carroll as his ex-wife Marla Maples after being shown a photo of the journalist.

he is also on record as saying that he couldn't have raped her because "she is not my type". He is such a lovely man.

As if rape was about sex rather than power.

Activision boss seems pi$$ed that he won't be able to exercise his share options just yet. Extraordinary attack on the UK regulatory framework I would say. Good luck on relocating abroad all those brilliant games developers we have in this country. "The report's conclusions are a disservice to UK citizens, who face increasingly dire economic prospects. We will reassess our growth plans for the UK. Global innovators large and small will take note that - despite all its rhetoric - the UK is clearly closed for business."www.bbc.co.uk/news/entertainment-arts-65378617

I see that Andrew Bellend Bridgend is continuing to make waves/bizarre statments, albeit in his new role as "the Member of Parliament previously representing the Conservative party." Now I don't necessarily have a lot of time for Penny Mordor Mordaunt, but even she has come out with the following in the commons: “I would just again caution him, who this week has been inviting us to join the dots, promoting that Anthony Fauci has created Covid in the United States and then offshored that operation to Wuhan, and in the previous session prior to this Business Questions in Defra, is starting a new campaign to tell the public that this Government and its international network of World Economic Forum stooges are encouraging everyone to eat insects.” I do fear for the poor chaps mental health: I wonder whether he is the victim of absorption of an excess amount of aluminium through the cranium. On a serious note, I am wondering whether his mental health could benefit from some help. Bridgen has now been permanently expelled from the Tory party, after being suspended (and sitting as an independent) since January. www.politicshome.com/news/article/andrew-bridgen-expelled-conservative-party...and as far as benefitting from some mental health help goes... He has been receiving counselling. From Laurence Fox. His latest parliamentary declaration of interests includes about £8k from Laurence Fox's "Reclaim" party for "legal consultancy", lunches, dinners and "counselling". publications.parliament.uk/pa/cm/cmregmem/230417/bridgen_andrew.htmPerhaps Reclaim's first MP is imminent...? <pulls up comfy chair and popcorn>

www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-wales-politics-65031592Lol I live about 20 miles away, we all know what been going on, after all you don't move 100,000 tonnes of coal in 5 months in the back of Dai's estate car. Still whinging they don't have enough money put aside to restore the area, many round here see that as a threat, let us carry on or we will just leave a hole. Some believe the promise to make good, some of us think that once mining stops the company will rapidly move to liquidation and the remediation costs will fall on the locals Just replacing what has been removed since September 2022, 100,000 tons of material need to be infilled, at 40 tons per load 2500 lorry loads lets just multiply by 20 to replace what been remove over 15 years 50,000 lorry loads. It won't be cheap I predict if the do anything they will smooth the site ( well smoothish ) scatter a few loads of topsoil and some grass seed www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-wales-65399546apparently the mines owners are already saying that they don't have the funds to do the work that they promised to do

so they actually didn't charge the right price for the coal, typical fossil fuel company, get you addicted, charge only a low price and then run away when the bill really comes due. What a business model.

Gina miller ... on the bandwagon .... funny how it came out the day after the probe result.. Yeh, minor issue with that theory... February - www.independent.co.uk/voices/dominic-raab-bullying-allegations-gina-miller-b2274570.htmlThere is an absolute ton of circumstantial evidence suggesting Raab is a very unpleasant, domineering individual with a superiority complex and a very short fuse. Anybody who is in denial about that really needs to pause and ask themselves if they'd carry the same view if they didn't agree with his politics. Wherever we stand on various issues, we undeniably deserve better politicians. "As we made our way out of the studio, the young runner showed us to the lift and said he would meet us downstairs. As the doors closed, Raab stared at me and said: “I can’t make up my mind if you’re naive, got too much money or just stupid. Just because you have deep pockets and friends in high legal places you think you can just go to court to stop the will of the people.” not what she said on live TV, she said this "“I can’t make up my mind if you’re naive, got too much money or just a stupid bitch" What you or other lefties may call unpleasant or domineering or short fused, many of us who have spent years in bussiness call hard working , focussed and committed ...... however i do agree on your last line. listen for yourself.. www.youtube.com/watch?v=PLMjW4j25CE

Every business is different. I've worked in 6 in multiple sites over 30 years. I've met bullies and I've met committed hard working people at multiple levels. The most successful were kind sensible people who stayed adult throughout any conversation. (Transactional analysis). The worst took a company close to bankruptcy, made every day a nightmare by a drip drip of misery for everyone and finally got sacked for fraud. And yes I had proudly reported him to the group CFO. If Simon MacDonald ( the guy who had to tell Merkel that the Brits had spied on her ) says he bullied, then he was a little .

Some years ago we had a major reorganisation, and the new head of group IT came to see us, one of his comments was "I am giving you all the right to challenge bad practice and to put forward ideas for improvements" a few weeks later in a meeting with my line manager I expressed how certain policies were stopping us being more efficient" the response "you can put that to John, but remember I have the right to sack you".
a few months down the line a flexible working scheme was mooted and trialled in HR, after 6 months HR said it wouldn't work for the company as whole, but they were keeping it.
