England footballer Kyle Walker's love life has been trawled through the media recently, particularly the love children he had with Lauryn Goodman. Some of the things she is asking for in court include:
- a £2.4m house
- child maintenance of £350k a year
- a brand new Mercedes every 3 years
- £30k a year for a nanny
- a new car for the nanny every 3 years
- hot tub maintenance £500 a month
- £30k for astro turf because she believes her one-year-old daughter Kinara – who is still crawling - is going to become a ‘Lioness’, an England women’s football star.

Thinking back to my dealings with the CSA - my payments were around 20% of my wages so about 1/5 of what she is asking for

Good start for all the Tory leadership candidates ... Liz Truss has said she might not back any of them. Champers all round

Wiki tells me the chap in question (who I've never heard of) is already 34. How many more years has he got ahead of him? Then what? Does he have the potential to be a successful manager or media pundit?

It’s an insult to the animals to call those people animals. But you told me off yesterday for saying that people are different to animals ! I was indeed referring obliquely to that debate. But so obliquely that I'm not sure how this reference works in that regard.

But so obliquely that I'm not sure how this reference works in that regard. Because surely, to refer in any way to people that "call these people animals" is to acknowledge is it not that there is a distinction between people and animals?

Our functions and processes are so deeply rooted in pure binary logic that we sometimes forget that others have come up through a different path, with more flexible approaches to these matters. Where we see black and white, others often see shades of grey. It's something we naturally find difficult to deal with.

I wasn't intending to work out what I meant, but its quite simple.
Consider: All people are animals. The Southport rioters are people. Therefore if someone refers to them as animals then they are correct. However the average animal is (in my judgement) better behaved than a Southport rioter. Ergo it is insulting to animals to refer to those race hate vermin as animals.
It also works if all people are not animals. Therefore Southport rioters are not animals. But the meanest animals have certain good qualities. Therefore even judging them against such animals, they still come up short.
I think everyone should be happy, unless they judge the EDL to be doing a good job, worthy of super beings or the animal kingdom in general. Christ how much of this have I had? Aerstone single malt Scottish whisky 'Land Cask' rich and smoky 10 years old. Hmm Its an 8/10.

I find it best to be drunk before tackling such weighty matters too . When my daughter was a nipper at primary school, the teacher asked the kids, "What's the highest number you know?", obviously expecting the little darlings to come back with 100 miss, or one thousand, or maybe ten million... My daughter, being a chip off the old block, stuck up her hand and said "Infinity miss". The teacher deflated her completely by saying "No, infinity isn't a number...anyone else...?". She was probably 8 at the time. I had to console her at home time and tell her she was perfectly correct (in the understanding of an 8 yr old). I was proud of her. She's a quite brilliant PhD now. The junior teacher is probably still a junior teacher.

I've only just discovered it (Whitley Neill) and... wow! The shark is one of the meanest animals out there. They have been known to torment their human prey for 20 minutes before the final kill. Hard to think of any redeeming qualities.
