Penny Mordaunt
studied drama and read philosphy where she got a 2 from a middle level University
I always get told off by publishing these basic facts but honestly if you pay peanuts you get monkeys
I don't really mind any of the today's parliamentarians but I just wish they were a bit brighter. It is a bit like trying to run a country with half the lights out.
Had to laugh. However, that would at least reduce the country's carbon footprint: the amount of hot air produced by politicians doesn't.

Penny Mordor is not one of the dimmer ones of the current lot, though. Not by a LONG chalk.

That's a bit harsh. I'm not convinced that having a 1st from Oxbridge would make for better politicians. I don't think degrees are much of an indicator to future potential.

Raab, have a look at his wiki or his Commons page. Nothing about the first degree so it was either a 2nd or a 3rd. Point made.

A 2.1 is perfectly respectable and even a 2.2 is not terrible.

A 2.1 is perfectly respectable and even a 2.2 is not terrible. Have a look at the recent rampant grade inflation stats for higher education. How times change.

Not how I would summarise Penny Mordaunt, in my opinion she has a very impressive CV indeed and is well qualified to be an MP.

Philosophy at Reading Uni, graduated in 1995 with a 2:1 Fresh out of uni, worked for the Tory party as head of youth, head of broadcasting. Worked for the Freight Transport Association in comms/PR briefly. Worked for GWB's presidential campaign as head of foreign press. Director of comms for Ken&Chel council. Set up a Tory website (which archive.org suggests never actually launched) Worked for GWB's re-election campaign. Worked for a few charities while also working for the Tory party. Stood but failed to be elected in 2005. Became an MP in 2010. It's not exactly broad real-world experience, is it? She's a PR wonk who's spent most of her career in, or talking to, the Westminster bubble. You're right that seems to make her ideally qualified to be an MP, though. Unfortunately.

So rule 1, Wanting to be a politician disqualifies you
Rule 2 All MP's should have 20 years experience in the real world, Not as a political advisor or working for a union

Penny Mordor is not one of the dimmer ones of the current lot, though. Not by a LONG chalk. True. Compared to the ex-shadow Education Sec and now deputy leader of the Labour party, Angela Rayner, who doesn't have so much as a single GCSE to her name, Ms Mordaunt is an intellectual giant.

Compared to the ex-shadow Education Sec and now deputy leader of the Labour party, Angela Rayner, who doesn't have so much as a single GCSE to her name, Ms Mordaunt is an intellectual giant. compared to the current culture secretary, they are both towering intellectual giants. While trawling t'internet to find out what her academic qualifications were (unsuccessfully) I discovered this about the Rt. Hon. Member for Stupidity: She said about Cameron and Clegg that they were "..two public schoolboys who don't know what it's like to go to the supermarket and have to put things back on the shelves because they can't afford it for their children's lunchboxes. What's worse, they don't care, either".[156] She later also called them "...two arrogant posh boys who don't know the price of milk – who show no remorse, no contrition and no passion to want to understand the lives of others" So she must loath Boris and Jacob rin-tin ole biscuit barrel bustop Mogg then. Oh, wait a moment....
