44 tips to be tight in a good way (their words not mine)
Some funny, some spine tingling, some just creepy.
34. Homemade firelighters Empty the fluff from your tumble dryer, put it inside old toilet rolls and use them as firelighters for wood burners, BBQ and so on. Or don't use a fricking tumble dryer! Though I must admit I did find myself hooking crystallised honey out earlier tonight with a... skewer. It worked. Kind of. Let's agree it was "sub-optimal". I wish I'd know about the melting trick. I should have thought about it really. I spent a few minutes wondering what you can dissolve crystals of honey / sugar in {blush}.

But the way to reliquify crystallised honey is to put the container in water you have just boiled. Given much honey is in plastic containers these days, you don't want it sitting on the bottom of a pan that is being actively boiled, but boil a pan of water (or use a kettle and then....), place the container in the boiled water. After a bit giving it a bit of a shake, and worth repeating a couple of times to really remove crystallisation.

Or don't use a fricking tumble dryer! Having slept on it I don't think the above is always fair. If you've limited space and / or no outdoors space, and eg children, it might not be so easy to simply never use the tumble dryer. Who's likely to be in this position? People, quite possibly poor, living in social housing .

Thought I recognised that photo p2pfan . I thought that was you sitting in your office at home.
What is going on with BBC News editing, the first sentence has a massive typo of missing words from a mark twain quote. They should have plenty of time to get it right as the news is usually days or weeks behind.

Don't beat yourself about not realising the melting trick (or indeed any of this inane rubbish); maybe you were busy just trying to live

I don't know about you, but a good 30-40% of honey in our house starts to crystallise before fully used. Still, as my father was a hobby apiarist (before he developed severe allergy to bee stings....) I might think that. I agree that a lot of it was inane, and a case of looking after the pennies while forgetting about the pounds (a bit of a corollary with P2P I fear.....), other parts of it I felt was: why on earth do people need to be TOLD to do that. Washing out plastic bags (freezer/sandwich), cleaning plastic tubs and repurposing them etc. Surely any sane individual does that simply to reduce unnecessary plastic waste, and should have been doing since forever....

Lol a bug bear of mine is when you see shampoo adverts and they show a person putting 20-30ML in their hand to was hair for me at least 3-5ML was plenty, and to be honest I've moved to shampoo bars far less plastic and a decent brand lasts me 6 months.

Count yourself lucky: I think I'd need a pipette to measure out what would still be a 'more than required' quantity

Nobody mentioned compost, all our peelings and fruit or veg that's past it goes in the compost heap for next year's veg.

Nobody mentioned compost, all our peelings and fruit or veg that's past it goes in the compost heap for next year's veg. it sort of mentioned compost: it mentioned using newspaper to line your 'food caddy', and not to buy compostable liner bags. Well who would do that anyway: just don't use a liner in the first place (and of course go digital for your newspaper and save on paper). It would be fair to say that the majority of people will not have compost heaps and rely on door step food waste collection (if they have it).

The UK and the EU ban the use of many pesticides but continue to manufacture them for export to countries such as Brazil where they are used to grow soya that the UK and the EU import to feed chickens that are sold in the UK and the EU.
