I used to log into my Zopa account with user name and password followed by a security question to answer. My money can only be removed to my own bank account so there's no worries on security unless someone else wants to deposit their money in my zopa account by mistake! (well I live in hope)
Now I am sent a pass code text message to my phone to enter as I log in. i thought it was a one off to link my phone to my account etc but oh no its not, its every time!
So if I don't have my phone with me I cannot quickly check at my zopa account (and defaulted payments level!), if I do have my phone the bl**dy thing is binging and bonging away with text message announcements from zopa with code numbers.
What an unwelcome and annoying change!
I cant see any way in my zopa profile to get back to the way of logging on with user/password/security question. ive tried the app which is happy with a fingerprint but the information is just not.... er.... informative!
Any help would be welcome, and please don't say turn off the phones sound 'cos I will forget to turn it back up and the missis will phone a million times thinking I've been beamed up by space aliens or run over by a Yorkshire traction bus!

I just tried and didn't have to do that, but I'm not sure they have my mobile number anyway. Unfortunately this is the way things are going. We all understand the need for adequate security but it can be enormously inconvenient and, as you say, annoying. Top of my gripe list is being forced to choose a password I can't remember because they insist on a particular combination of characters. Utterly patronising. Next comes the redacting of passwords so I can't see the typing mistakes I'm making - particularly troublesome on a phone. I mean, who's going to be looking over my shoulder?

Yorkshire traction has been defunct for at least 15 years, and Aliens daren’t visit tarn, so I wouldn’t worry

We all understand the need for adequate security but it can be enormously inconvenient and, as you say, annoying. I noticed a message at the top of the summary screen after logging in a couple of weeks ago: When I looked I could see that it was going to want a SMS code every time I logged in (sometimes a few times a day). I've resisted adding my mobile number so far. I don't think any of my banks want an SMS code for every login. They might for a new device or when doing something more risky (transfers etc).

its all a bit mad, sms text every log in, fingerprint would be so much better Have you tried to suggest to them that you can no longer operate your access to their account in this manner no text options etc. I'm not sure they are planning to change things but the one thing that i find is that their system does seem to log out very quickly somedays and so i find I am constantly checking things and have to keep logging back in. A number of sites do offer a much better system for people like me who use a static PC in my office at home. Many banks and other sites have found ways to add flag (cookies I guess) into my browser and it lasts for either a long time or a day or so. The government sites seem to have a system where you can login and set a flag (cookie probably) that last 7 days - very useful when do tax stuff and I find. Bit of a pain when I have to switch to helping Mrs Aju and flag negates mine. (I've just thought that I probably could get round the gov site sharing by using another browser for my wifes stuff) Zopa could have a system like this i feel if they could manage it mind you i'm not sure that Zopa developers are up to this sort of sophistication if i'm honest but its not a hard thing to effect. There are ways out of the log timers I use a modified browser extension to keep firing a reload every 3 mins while i am doing other things. Their timers are not the intelligent at the moment. (Mind you i do have to wtch out getting distrated and forgetting i have Zopa up in another window! (I just delete the days worth of texts I get and at least Zopa does not use the same address for useful texts like some other sites do.)
