That is why they are going round dragging civilians off the street, lowering the age of conscription, trying to force countries to send Ukrainian refugees abroad back to fight and the US Pentagon is saying they have a serious man-power shortage.
..... 5) Level of service avoidance for original mobilisation, estimated at 600,000, inevitably requires more punitive measures & widening of the cohort to compensate ... dont think they are raiding the prisons yet.Not so far off though: up until very recently Ukr law forbid convicts to join up. That changed about a week or so ago when Zelensky signed legislation that allowed certain categories to sign up.

They do have a manpower shortage but it is a false correlation to assume that has to be from losses, which every realistic attempt to quantify has put much lower for both sides than official claims by opponent/proxies 1) Russia has deployed more troops so Ukraine needs to increase to compensate 2) Much longer, static front requires more troops than initial fluid phase 3) Shortage of munitions and disparity with Russians requires more troops to compensate, despite the advantage of current defensive posture and even more if want to move onto offensive 4) Troop rotation, many existing forces have been in the line for a long tme & Russain pressure has restricted ability to rotate 5) Level of service avoidance for original mobilisation, estimated at 600,000, inevitably requires more punitive measures & widening of the cohort to compensate, also desertion levels are apparently significant ... dont think they are raiding the prisons yet. I wish that was the case...

Eh, well, I'm certainly not 100% confident that Ukraine will "win" (however that is defined), but that's a long way from accepting that Russia has already won. If Ukraine had already lost 600k dead and over 1m wounded it wouldn't have an army left. Somebody is certainly stopping the Russia army from waltzing down the main boulevard in Odessa with a flower in its mouth, ergo it's an absurd estimate.

I can confirm that is unfortunately definitely the case. MIL and BIL are finally leaving us in about 2 weeks. All the conversation at home has been about how to ensure BIL doesn't get picked up off the streets. Its actually him who is pushing to go home despite all the risks. In theory he has a "white ticket" and his is genuine but there have been so many cases of men in Ukr pretending to be disabled and/or paying doctors/army people etc that new rules make it tougher for the genuinely disabled which is his case.

” A year ago, when Ukraine first got a Patriot battery, used it to take down 4 Russian aircraft in a day, as they attacked Ukraine from right at the russian border, the US/Germany threatened to cut off all assistance if it ever happened again ”
Russia is lucky it has a NATO by its border otherwise there will be a game over 🤭
By the way, is michaelc and angrysaveruk also pro Trump ? . . . wouldn't surprised me if yes

Have you met him? If not, I think he is disqualified from the competition by default Think you might need the brain drier on a higher setting ... the dampness is affecting your cognitive function. I'm lost. Who is doing what? Is angry AI generated? Nobody is that blind to the situation that they think Russia is above criticism but continually demeans the victim of Russian aggression. I thought there was something Shrimp Jesus about all this.

I dare not to type the name of the AI generated image, as I did not know the dead internet has already existed. Definitely dont want it appear on my daily feed.
What have you been searching?

As for The Colonel and how much I actually pay attention to what he says, you obviously lack the common sense to know when someone is joking.

Looking at the last two weeks of the war, I would say the following. Russia has involved itself in another meaningless quagmire by opening the front in the North without sufficient weight of arms to achieve anything and in the case of Vovchansk, in an area of no strategic value. Just another place to waste away equipment and people. This war is largely being fought for the “information sphere.” Most of what I see from the Russians involves how things will look. Making it look like Ukraine is losing is as important or perhaps even MORE important than Ukraine losing. Having an attack that gets reported breathlessly as Ukraine falling back in disorder is a big deal even if the land the Russians take is almost meaningless.

Agreed There is no much left for russia to diminish Ukraine achievements. Senseless russians cannon footers just to prolong the situation in hope Ukraine and West got tired. Currently time is against russia. Conscripts reached Moskov perhaps this might be an eye opening for russian society although very much doubt so after years and years of propaganda
