normal problem: rt is blocked in the UK as part of UK sanctions on Russia. Yes I know that doesn't seem to be the case for you, perhaps because you are accessing it via a VPN. But that discussion has been had several times between you and Adrian. I thought I'd make a change and start if off myself this time :-)

The assumption that Ukr doesn't have such capabilities amongst all the ex-Soviet trained military seems less solid.

There is nothing illegal regarding accessing that website as far as I know. Otherwise zzoomm wouldn't allow it would they? Thankfully this isn't China or Russia.

What is the penalty for that I wonder?

No there isn't, and I've not said nor implied that there is anything illegal about you accessing it. And IIRC neither has anyone else. However, the fact that it is sanctioned and therefore generally blocked is why most other people cannot follow any rt links you post. Which was my point. I'm aware that you have said you are not using a VPN, hence why I said "perhaps" -as I was struggling to understand why you were an exception to the norm, albeit I think you have now probably provided the answer. TV Novosti is a sanctioned organisation, and ISPs are required to take "reasonable steps to prevent" users accessing "an internet service provided by" a person or organisation sanctioned by the UK government, and that in effectively means blocking access to their websites. rt.com is currently one of three sites listed by the UK government. I have no view on why zzoomm are not blocking access like most other providers, but having looked up who they are it may simply be that they are currently sufficiently small that they don't have those checks / blocks in place and nobody is bothered about it due to their size. That is purely supposition on my part, but seems the most likely reason.

As you being the exception I'm not sure I'd count 2:all as being an exception.....

I like the O2 sim cards sold on the counter, but not O2 sim cards themselves might not function 100% until their number ported to other network.

Trump said today: "You’re going to see a very senior special envoy, someone with a lot of credibility, who will be given a task to find a resolution, to get to a peace settlement," one of the sources said. "You’re going to see that in short order.I'm sure my fellow forumites will agree with me that that (in bold) is the most likely outcome....

Lets wait and see, there is always hope: by the law of averages, at least some of his picks have got to be semi-normal and capable :-)

That would explain quite a lot - not least why they weren't forthcoming in naming their ISP .....
