in the update today my bold / underline NatWest has been undertaking technical updates to its bankline system over the weekend. These are still ongoing and as a result, we have been unable to access our accounts today. This has meant that we are currently unable to process deposits and withdrawals. We are also unable to make any loan interest payments. Please accept our apologies for this interruption to service. We will continue to monitor the situation. Kind regards, Ablrate Who is making deposits these days with so many loans in such turmoil? I really, really hope that this isn't the "banking issues" endgame. Sorry, but I've seen it too many times before

Sorry, but I've seen it too many times before Actually had issues with Bankline access myself yesterday so that part does appear to ring true

Not a chance, not even Natwest are that incompetent. I've worked in RBS and trust me major IT and application updates are more likely to got wrong and rolled back than to be successful. IT systems, processes, documentation, management , contractors and offshore outsourcing are a very expensive shambles on top of an overpaid but constantly moaning workforce !

I don't use Bankline, but I'd have thought that if it was still down for maintainance then we'd have heard about it from other users in the media, and the service status of Natwest would reflect this. We haven't and it doesn't. Sceptic? Me.....

I made a withdrawal Friday & had received the payment this morning when I checked around 8am, dated 21/3/22.
I did not get a confirmation email or notification as usual.
Something is odd about this email.

I appreciate I am swimming somewhat against the flow here, but I am inclined to take it at face value.
If only based on the fact that currently not bothering to communicate is the ablrate default position, so no comment at all would have been the standard offering if the problem was not the one highlighted.
Tomorrow will probably confirm which view is the more valid.
