It amazes me the Flawed Counting does not get reported and have to explain to regulators for getting it wrong. Maybe they will have to clean up their act before long, because these flaws are such public knowledge. I have to assume (or at least expect) that my account is frequently flawed too. They seem to have no shame, Grumps.

Sorry I do not have Gorillas for neighbours, only sheep. Having seen Betty Bot I think I will wait up with the lights off and a bottle of cream sherry. "My Dear, I am in need of some reconciliation and have excess Available Funds. Can you help?"

Many thanks to 'blender' for pointing out the quick way to see how much adrift one's account is, which saved me a heap of effort Adding back the 2 phantom transactions I'd spotted put the total back into perfect balance so I know that's the extent of the errors. I'll be watching the "FC Total minus Net Earnings" figure like a hawk from now on. I had a helpful call from Nancy in the FC Customer Service team today to assure me that any such transactions are quickly picked up automatically and resolved within a few days. Lo and behold, the duplicated charge has now already disappeared from my transactions statement this afternoon.

Yep, Funny Charges are really good at fixing it ... Of course that puts me in mind of American Airlines (a few years ago, I admit) super system for locating and reuniting lost bags. The secret in both cases is they get a lot of (I.e. too much) practice. Hopefully the 'coming soon' new systems will stop FC doing it.

Fictitious Computation confirmed that the reconciliation bot is sick at the moment.
I emailed after waiting a week in vain for the bot to correct a double charged purchase on my account. The prompt and comprehensive reply mentioned that there is an 'issue' with the script generator they use to correct such errors. They said:
"unfortunately the issue is affecting more investors at present due to some database performance issues we have been experiencing.
When an investor account does not reconcile, the system will detect this immediately. The detection and deletion of the transaction is however manual; that is, we need to run a script to detect the transaction, check this manually, and finally delete it.
We aim to reconcile an account as soon as possible, normally within 1 working day. Unfortunately this is taking a little longer than usual due to an issue with our script generator.
As you may have seen the Financials team have reconciled your account today and your balance is now correct.
If you would like to contact us as soon as you spot the discrepancy the Customer Relations team can identify and resolve this within our 2 working day service level, however please be assured that the Financials team are always aware if an account does not reconcile and will work to reconcile the account as soon as possible. "

Currently waiting for issues flagged on 18/12 to be resolved, so FC are well behind. I am ahead on the deal so see no need to chase!

Amused to find today that my account is now running roughly £100 in my favour so at least the mistakes work both ways. Considering abandoning my usual reservation and gambling it all on a C- loan part, just for the thrill ...

It won't last, they'll want it back after they reconcile. Maybe if you transfer it all out and run??
