a sign that Joe/Jane Public isn't interested in green issues, but more in their own pocket. This despite what the media tell us that green issues are the main concern of many people yet when it comes to putting a cross in the box ...
but then are people prepared to stand as Green candidates, We have 33 Councillors up for election, a meagre 69 candidates and only one of those stood as a green. Yes I accept we only had 3 standing as Conservative, but in the Welsh Valleys they have nearly been hunted to extinction

I think long term they will have a big impact on politics in England and Wales already in government with the SNP in Scotland. They often seem to have one foot in left camp the other in the right they seem to me like a populist centralism movement Elon Musk being a great example. I've spoken to a few younger members most think both main party concerns are pointless if the house is on fire. They my have a point throwing money at a burning house while coming up with some woke idea won't put it out. www.cnbc.com/2022/05/02/india-heat-wave-in-pictures.html

It is pactically pointless to stand in election where the voters in the ward percieve you are not going to come first or second. The FPTP system is about getting rid of the crook elected last time or supporting the crook, not voting what you actually believe in. Green parties are large in PR countries.

We have wards with multiple representatives, so a popular candidate can get in, although it does appear in come areas that voting is purely on party lines not on best candidate.
Personally I voted tactically avoiding the pocket liner in chief, and voting for the only female candidate as I feel that the council has been very male dominated

I worked as an officer in the recent elections. As much as voters shouldn't discuss anything political they do voice thier opinions. Rubbish and potholes were the common theme along with a general dissapoint with all parties. Funnily enough , up here the same outcome as usual. Lack of choice or trust in any party was the overall feeling. The greens have installed a nice new cycle path from Edinburgh to the borders. Meanwhile the road verges and surface continue to wreck tyres and suspension for the ever screwed over motorist.

It's almost as if the Greens are trying to persuade people to move from their cars to other forms of transport - including bicycles. How strange.

It's very strange . Maybe it's not a cycle path but a new road! Certainly nice and smooth. Will give it a go at the weekend ... gives my worn shocks a break.

People vote with their heads not their hearts. Green is a great pipe dream. In my London Constituency ,where my heart dwells, Labour is about to concrete over the Green Belt with 6000 new homes (Affordable ? In Leafy N. London? In yr dreams).
The Labour Councillors are 100% first /second generation immigrants who 'represent' a sizable pressure group. They are largely so overtly corrupt that its laughable and many do not finish a term. The Others have had more practice at it and some may even be clean in thought if not in action.
The SE is bursting at the seams.
