There is a similar case (Phillips Trust Corporation) written up in the current issue of Private Eye. Luckily for the elderly 'investors'* the tax payers are likely to pick up the tab in this case.
FWIW I always raise a wry smile every time The Eye refers to 'The Fundamentally Complicit Authority' .... and yes they do know about Col.
* The Co sold plans to cover people for care costs.
