Great news, thanks Mousey. However, The verdict seems inconsistent with the judge’s directions. How did the jury find guilty on count 3 but not guilty on count 1, when the judge previously said:
“If you are not sure that there was a fraud by misrepresentation as alleged in count 1, by at least one of the defendants, those funds will not be in the proceeds of criminal conduct and it follows you could not convict either defendant of count 3.”

Earlier today a jury returned their verdicts against two brothers who ran the finance firm Collateral UK Limited. Read more hereprobably right that (beyond reasonable doubt) only one guilty on count 1. Pretty clear cut that the funds thereafter were used illegally, with post-hoc and undocumented justifications for taking the money out. not that it helps us get it back. I suspect some of the money was probably the unsecured, non-drawndown funds on a couple of property loans (both of which I am sadly in), no?

pretty high I would think I really hope so, if not just for us saps who lost a lot of money in this, but for the poor souls who will never get to see justice done, and went to their maker never knowing......... I hope so much that the judge keeps them in mind.

What chance of a custodial sentence then ?
Possibly no where near as high as the probability of an appeal (or three)

What chance of a custodial sentence then ?
Possibly no where near as high as the probability of an appeal (or three) They should have plenty of money stashed to fund one...

Having read the updates every day, this was surely inevitable...
Whilst there is a certain degree of satisfaction at them having been suitable dealt with by justice, there's one major question arises...
Will this make any difference to the amount we receive back?
I suspect/fear not. Having said that, I've already received a lot more back (nearly 30%) than I was expecting to ever see (roughly zero), so perhaps I should just be satisfied?

That's the opposite of what the judge said though. He said if at least one is not guilty on count 1, then neither can be convicted on count 3.
