S&S?cash isas, fixed rate, p2p, a mix?
Personally I've did a bit of stocks and moved my LP to isa wrapped. With interest rates potentially falling this year hopefully the markets may offer better returns. Who knows, as long as the taxman gets less.
How have forum members split allowances?

Usually split about 50/50 or 60/40 between S&S and IFISA, and I expect it will be the same this year. Not sure where any new P2P funds will go this year, maybe Elfin Market and a couple of others. The luxury of choice.

My personal investments are with Vanguard, where I have a general and ISA account.
Made a major blunder a few years ago where I didn't use my full ISA allowance, because I didn't think I would use up the £12k CGT allowance. Problem is some clever bast*rd thought it was a good idea to reduce the allowance to £6k in the 23/24 tax year and £3k in the current year. So for the last year year I sold £40k of one of the world trackers that have done well in the general account, which produced a £6k gain. Half went into the same fund in the ISA and the other £20k was re-invested in the general account in something similar that avoided falling foul of the bed and breakfasting rules.
I have £50k in premium bonds for my rainy day fund, and enough cash in my SIPP to cover 3 years of withdrawls, so I don't hold any cash ISA's.

InvestEngine, bought £20K of iShares Physical Gold taken from my Proplend account and await WW3. Will probably transfer another £20k from another of my IFISA accounts into a cash ISA for quick emergency access. At the age of 72 this year I can't see the point in risking my money in high risk investments trying to make more in the present economic climate, instead of just spending it. So I intend to book a few holidays in the sun this year.

Quite a dull mix of shares for most of the money again this year, but I do like to allocate 10% to a "risky" share This year that is Acuity Risk Management plc acuityrmgroup.com/It is one I have watched for a while and four things caught my eye recently 1. Gartner seems to like the product 2. The year end update showed they are getting close to cash neutral 3. Two contract wins: one with a client that runs cyber security programmes for its clients and also its first contract in the US 4. The purchase, in two tranches, of 4.5% of the company by a gent who was previously a Director at an insurer that specialises in insuring cyber risk Not a recommendation. The share price is down recently and there is a real risk that it might not survive if it doesn't keep winning new business. Dealing in shares is a quick way of loosing your money.

Tell me about it.... bb healthcare and abrdn.... would've been better with a 1% savings account.

for those who are going to use IFISA this year, which one are you going with? Any of the platforms that you would particularly avoid? Just keen to see what others' think.

I detailed where my funds are likely to go at the end of this rather long post p2pindependentforum.com/post/491393/thread. The relevant paragraph is: I might also add to CapitalStackers, but that's where my last 2 years ISA allowance has gone, so still thinking it over. I've already added small amounts to EM and CrS (would have added more if they were flexible).

Elfin Market for me so far, but I'm hanging around like a spurned lover for CapitalRise or LandlordInvest.

Spreadsheet and some arithmetic ? Libreoffice is free.

Yes, copious use of spreadsheets. Would be impossible without them.

In just a few days I have made more than double the profit on my £30k invested in a gold tracker than I would make in a whole year in P2P lending.

Re-invested with Kuflink for a further year 10.25 can't be sniffed at. New money Elfin Market. New cash for a rainy day Zopa easy access. Love Loanpad but I have more than enough in there and don't want to over do it. Other ISA's maturing later will have to see what's available when the time comes. My S&S Isa's still haven't recovered over the last 12 months so will be left alone for now but when the time comes I'll be out for good.
