"I blame the tablet which annoyingly randomly moves the cursor mid-post..."
Interesting you should mention that ilmoro . The cursor often moves somewhere quite random when I'm not looking at the monitor, just on this forum, not others. Two different mice have been used, so it isn't them.
oh not just me then, i shall apologise to my tablet for all the abuse it gets. Worst when Im quoting when I suddenly find myself editing the post I am quoting.

Hello Andy. I'm glad to hear that you do accept their is a problem with presentation here and that it's a priority for you. It should be. You're not exactly coming across like a Nigerian scammer but it is simply not reassuring to see this sloppy use of English, though better than my English which seems to have become the subject ;-)
I very much take Andy's point about moving on, but I cannot let 'their is a problem' go unnoticed. I never pretended my English was perfect, and the subject is not me. If you want to play grammar and language Nazi with fellow board members then there are numerous forums where you can go and play this very childish game to your hearts content.

Looks like Ablrate are moving on after taking pertinent and constructive criticism on board. That's what matters, I guess.

Hi All Thanks for your feedback.. offending email changed. Just to echo Andy's point, we are moving to an entirely new platform, the old one is not being scrapped but merely mothballed until we decide what we are going to do with it... answers on a postcard.... We do very much appreciate that grammar and spelling are something that should be correct. When we launched the challenge was to get the platform finished and some things slipped through which we have corrected as they have come up. We will be implementing a system of proofing this time which should catch those kind of things.... ... I did see a UK site the other day, whose front page said 'pee to peer lending' on the front page.... either a new branch of the industry or they have the same issues as we have. Regards Ablrate

I'll review (and improve?) all your standard emails, £5 each, to be invested on the platform. You'll thank me. (Gissa job)

You could offer it to ThinCats (out of pity?). The recently trumpeted Easter move to TC's new white-label platform based on the rebuildingsociety one seems to have been abruptly postponed as they apparently no longer have confidence that it is ready for public consumption. The latest attempt follows on from some in-house/related-party efforts which provided much topic for debate/comment from lenders, or 'software moans' as one of the TC principals famously described such.

Would you take a branded umbrella instead?! Would it raffle (for charity) as well as a pale lilac Ratesetter mug did? (You may have to confirm it has actually been over a hallowed head or two). ??

I journeyed over here from my native Fat Chameleons habitat, bored by what was on offer there, enticed by the thought of an aircraft offering 11% and a parachute, if needed. Working back through a few pages of the thread - no aircraft at all, just a discussion among a bunch of old pedantic f*rts, some familiar, some not, about the errors common in the use of basic English. Seemingly conducted by the platform operator, or an accredited representative of such. Oh no, that was'nt a proper sentense! Its catching and I have to blend in! This is somewhere to get out of. Before I'm castigated, or castrated, for ending that last sentence with two prepositions. Meanwhile, on FC's (possessive) own forum - 'thou shalt use no other forum but mine or thou will be ignored' - the operator has been severely criticised for using 'less' where 'fewer' was the correct word. Now that's real class.
post scriptum: for the avoidance of doubt, where I come from 'old f*rt' is a term of endearment.

Working back through a few pages of the thread... Hmm, that may have been your mistake. Generally it is considered better to start at the beginning!

There might have been an aircraft on 16 Feb., when the thread was started, but it might have flown away long ago. Going back to February would bring back painful memories of those old days of p2p innocence, before someone, il moro, did away with my old avatar and stuck his head on a spike. (If you were to reply, I would expect the correct usage of the subjunctive.)
Et in p2p Arcadia ego.

I should point out that the aircraft has indeed flown away. In fact Ablrate very kindly provided a document (an Ascend valuation) which suggested that the aircraft has flown away (and landed again) 24,968 times as at 30 September 2014. So at the risk of being considered pedantic I would venture to suggest that rather than using the past conditional “it might have flown away” the comment would have been more accurate as a simple present continuous “it is flying away”.
As a matter of interest if you were to key in “ATR 42” and 2 other pieces of information (found on the aforementioned Ascend document – which I am not allowed to mention here according to the site rules) you would see 3 photos taken whilst it was indeed “flying away” – exciting stuff.
www.airliners.net/
(a site for armchair plane-spotters when they are not straightening out some grammatical point)
Of course I appreciate it is possible that the reference to the aircraft in the phrase “it might have flown away” is an example of metonymy and that we should understand it to indicate the loan itself whereby the thought is being expressed that the opportunity to take part in the loan might have gone.
Lest there be (and that I vouch is the correct use of a subjunctive you requested) any unnecessary concern on this score, a quick look at the website shows that as of today there are still 31 days to take part (assuming it isn’t filled by then).
I am quite slow when it comes to due diligence so one of the advantages at the moment with Ablrate is that the loans are up for a long time such that it allows even me to complete all my necessary due diligence so I can join in the grammatical games. I guess that is not the case at FC?
