As a now infrequent visitor to FC - other than to draw out repayments - I've not kept track of the trend in loan titles. I remember the halcyon days lasting quite a few months when they appeared to have employed someone with a sharp eye for a catchy and witty loan title. They disappeared and then seemed to make a return and then disappeared again.
Very disappointed with the current set of loan titles (no idea about the loans themselvest): out of the current crop there are 10 if not more 'Working Capital' or 'working capital loan', at least the same again if not more 'Expansion loan' (variants of) etc. All very very tedious.
But wait: what's that I see ? Is it bird ? Is it a plane ? No its a fish. To be precise its a "Great Deal to be haddock". Wonderful, how could I not lend to this purveyor of battered seafood and deep fried sliced potatoes. But wait, don't be so hasty, maybe my money should be going to "Profit and Floss" in the healthcare sector.
So how come 2 out of 64 have 'red top' titles. Is this person only working 2 hours a week ? Are the rest of the loans THAT boring ? Does this person sneak these through when their boss is in a meeting ? Or is there a rule that all whole loans are excluded from comedic titles, and thus we know that only 2 of the 64 are not whole loan rejects ?
I think we should be told.

I think there is probably one rogue introducer/broker who has pun disease. Some of them are quite good, but remember this is probably the guy who brought us 'copper load of this', and was he also a 'breath of fresh air'?? Hmm .. Suddenly 'expansion loan' looks quite good - I think Viagra retailers have a burgeoning future 8>.

I liked "I sport the law" but there were some bad puns for a book shop the "first chapter of growth" or some such cheesiness

Ah, was that the Crappy Scrappy ? Didn't hold that one so didnt know. And anyway, given its frequent usage, I assumed Crappy Scrappy was the loan title. But perhaps I got that wrong :-0 Give the poor guy (unisex usage) a break - they're only writing the loan titles, not the loans. Plus if they were responsible for our old scrap merchant I doubt they will blowing their own trumpet, as I've heard rumour they can't find it. So someone has to. But I'm now concerned by the precedent setting: does this mean our purveyor of newspaper ensconced delicacies will in not too long a time be known as "Hook, line and sinkered", or perhaps "Filleted and Fried", or maybe even "Fishy Calamities". I think I'll now hold back on risking my 20 squid on it.

Yes, the entertainment value of the pitiful excuse transcript alone made it worth having a small piece of Crappy Scrappy.

or a butcher: 'A cut above the rest' And if the butcher rejects a rate of say 12% then Financial Cowboys could always say that “the steaks were too high”

On the other hand if they manage to fill the loan they might deserve a paté on the back!

I'm sorry but "Show That You Apothecare" (11283) doesn't even qualify as a pun. Writer should be shot (or, more appropriately, poisoned).
