You're retired; it's entirely normal to forget what time or even day it is

Well I forgot about it, remembered at 2.15 (real time) when it was at 73%, transferred the money, then wandered away and totally forgot about it until now, still a bit left though. So can I borrow your Nurse? Next week you'll be hours behind! Now where did I put that pig?

Aston Martin DB7 tomorrow 14:00 GMT. £15K on £27K value, max £250 for 24hrs, 11%. Went on line 13:58, already 78% gone, so FS started well before the 14:00 starting time they put in their e-mail. So, what time do they actually open the list? Are they on European time? PS Hey, jonno , what time did you get your slice? Hi Grumps. I think it was just after 2 p.m. Have you taken your tablets today,or has that time warp kicked in again You sure you didn't go on at 15;58? Ah.Just seen your recent post. I was right.............THE TABLETS TAKE THE FUC*IN' TABLETS!!!!!!!!!

Still £1300 available at 1815. The pace of bidding slowed considerably after the initial feeding frenzy.
I've put only a bit in -- not the maximum -- because the 11% offered seems low. The 'classic car' in the upcoming loan list also is 11%, but its LTV is only 33% and that might justify the lower rate. But the LTV on today's car is 56%, and it probably is a depreciating asset.

I always have problems with anything that is a depreciating asset. When talking values are we talking trade, retail, etc in order to determine the LTV. The 27k valuation is based on what exactly. The 11% doesn't help but no doubt it will eventually fill.

The 11% doesn't help but no doubt it will eventually fill. I don't have a problem with a short loan on a depreciating asset -- as long as the LTV is low enough. With common used cars, I expect there's some sort of database that people can use to determine the value of what they're trying to buy or sell. With something as uncommon as this car, the value has to be very uncertain. Thinking about it more rationally now, even my reduced participation is probably too much considering the variables. £900 still available at midnight. I expect that will disappear before 1400 Friday. If it doesn't, it'll disappear shortly thereafter when the maximum bid restriction is lifted.

The 11% doesn't help but no doubt it will eventually fill. On this type of car, age, model and above all condition are the key determining factors normally dictating price. The value put on this particular DB7 seems to fit in reasonably well with what is currently on the market. However if the loan was to go pear shaped and the car had to be auctioned, it could turn into a game of roulette and fetch only half its current value. Good one for a gambler I would have thought!

This will make £20k, if not £25k comfy.
A 13 year old car won't depreciate that much in 6-9 months in storage...
