Hi All
For those of you who are members of Ablrate you will have just received an email from us explaining the transition from the old platform to the new, but I thought I would post here to cover all bases!
Basically we have a bunch of new transactions lined up for the new platform to satiate your Ablrate loan appetite and the deal flow will be solid from then on. To get the new platform sorted we will need some downtime to have a final data point for migration so on Sunday we will be closing the Secondary Market and cancelling all trades, so if there are any bids to accept, they need to be done before Sunday. The old platform will be suspended on Tuesday and we anticipate testing and migration to be 7-10 days. It is long, but we want to get it right, if it can be done sooner, then it will certainly be done sooner.
The latest loan will close Tuesday, Instant Return will be paid and you will be accruing interest. It may open up briefly again on the new platform for the rest of the loan to be completed on the new system by our underwriters.
We will have some great announcements soon, that will help you see how we will hit the loan origination targets we have.
Regards Ablrate

Just to be clear, will it be possible to bid on the current aircraft loan through to its normal close on Tuesday? I.e. are you waiting until that closes before starting the migration. When you say the loan may open again to allow underwriting do you mean that it may or may not be underwritten, and if it opens for that purpose will we have that opportunity to bid also?

Hi Yes it will be possible to bid on the loan until Tuesday. We are waiting until Tuesday as there is a loan interest payment that day, the next one after that is the 12th... so its easier to pay that interest as is due, close the site and open it again before the next due payment. It will open so that we can just implement the underwriting under the new platform, rather than do it on the old and migrate. When we open it again, we may allow more bids if anyone really would like to get involved, but we will send a mail to all before it closes and it wont be open for more than a couple of days. Regards Ablrate

I received this email this afternoon so thought I would post it here for all those interested but do not get email updates.
Hi All
This is a quick update to let you know where we are with the launch of the new platform.
We will be testing a further release of the platform tomorrow and uploading to our new server shortly after that. We will then begin testing in a live environment with all of your data present on the server. The integrity of the data is obviously very important so we will be going through each account.
Security is important to us so there is a new security feature on the platform which is your 'Security Number'. This is essentially a pin number that you will need to use to make withdrawals and change any private data. When you log in for the first time you will be prompted to input this number and also change your password as we have a different encryption system to the old platform.
The secondary market has been completely redesigned and its function is pretty complex. We have been working on making sure yields are a ccurate and the buying and selling experience is easy.
All the FAQs are being updated and we will be uploading some instructional videos for the platform and will be adding more explanation videos about investing in our various asset categories.
We will keep you informed as we move towards the launch and should be back online soon.
All the best

We are in the final throes now (we hope!). We have been undertaking a LOT of testing and are now hopefully awaiting the final pre-release iteration. We should be able to make a definitive statement on a release date at some point this week if things continue to run to plan.

Don't rush it. Patience can be hard but I'd much prefer you having a good platform relaunch than the alternatives! If that means waiting until next week to set a timetable, so be it.

That's our approach . Unfortunately ablrate and I are two very impatient people so being patient is a whole new skillset we are having to learn! Pity the poor developers who have to deal with probably the most picky, detail-oriented people ever.

You haven't met my missus After years in the banking sector implementing multi-million pound work-flo systems and the headaches that go with them, I really do feel sorry for the developers, though not too much as i'm sure they are paid quite well :-) ... (and no, I wasn't one of the reasons for the banking crash!) ;-)

Interesting that your current background picture is sized to fill my 3840x2160 screen width rather than my usual bit over a third of that browser width. Even though the image itself seems to be only 2800x1867 the sizing seems to have been scaled somehow to fill that screen width.
