I think we can safely say, even without the benefit of a poll, that the general consensus is that we are interested in any passing quarry opportunities, at least up until the point we see the actual proposal/details, at which point enthuaism may wane... ... particularly if it turns out not to be a flooded goldmine.

Maybe savingstream would like to run a 'would you invest in these' poll? Or I guess our resident poll addict may be back one day. SS probably have a better idea of what they are comfortable with.

We had a deal for a Sand/Gravel quarry in Scotland today at c 30% LTV which we decided not to pursue as it was too far off from our norm. Is there a demand for alternative but secured assets? Any more boats like that superyacht likely to be looking for finance...?

I would be interested in the Quarry but would want to know the reason for the bridging loan and the intended refinance route.
LTV would need to be based on the 90 day sale if possible.

I would like to reduce my percentage exposure to property, so would be interested in a quarry, it the detail did not give me any red flags.

A hole in the ground may be worthless but fill it with water and it becomes a gold mine. Why would you fill a goldmine with water ? Oh perhaps this is a case of hydraulic mining.... I would have a punt on that.

Some people are not quite that simple - you need to hover the mouse over their name to find out what their "secret name" is, then use that. There's an alternative method that solves the problem of people whose display name is different from their @name. There's a button in the collection just above the message composing window -- it's fifth from the right on my screen, two to the left of the Quote button, and shows an @ sign and a person. Click on it and start typing the display name of the person. The system will show a list of matching forum users. Click on the appropriate one and the system will insert the appropriate @name where the cursor is. (So you need to have the cursor in the right place before clicking the button.) HTH
