The Guernsey regulator may just have signalled the beginning of the end for Relendex.
I've received this email from Relendex:
to which I replied:
I wonder how many will be willing to pay the post office for certifying id docs simply for the pleasure of lending on the Relendex platform.
I've received this email from Relendex:
We are writing to request certified copy documents that we need for enhanced Client Due Diligence for the operation of your Lender Account with Relendex.
The Guernsey regulator requires us to increase these checks in order to comply with current regulations. We thank you in advance for your assistance and appreciate your cooperation.
If you have not already done so, please provide certified copies of the following:
1) Passport
2) Proof of Residence (a utility bill no more than 3 months old or a Drivers Licence provided your address is shown)
Certifying a document
Copies of documentation can be certified by a regulated professional person covered by the money laundering regulations or a government body, such as a Lawyer, Banker and Authorised Financial Intermediary. The person undertaking the certification must be capable of being contacted if necessary and therefore contact details should be provided.
If the document contains a photograph these individuals need to state, I certify this to be a true copy of the original document, which I have seen and the photograph is a true likeness of the person named therein. For other documents they need to state 'original seen' and be dated. They must include a contact name, land line telephone number as well as signing their name. There is no restriction on the date as long as the actual document is valid.
Alternatively you can arrange for these documents to be certified at a UK main Post Office. This is a simple process and takes about 10 minutes.
We would be grateful if you could send the certified copies to: Relendex Limited, Dukes Court, 32 Duke Street St Jamess, London SW1Y 6DF. If in the meantime you are also able to send us scanned copies of these certified documents, this would be appreciated.
Unfortunately until you provide these documents you will not be able to bid in any future auction. We apologise for the inconvenience and we would appreciate your cooperation in providing these documents as soon as possible.
Yours sincerely

to which I replied:
Would you please close my account with yourselves. I was un-impressed with your handling of the two loans I bid on (and especially having to chase withdrawal payments both times days after the request), and have had little appetite even to logon to your site since then.
I'm not going to go to the effort of getting certified copy documents. Sorry.
