OK I place my bet for Friday 3rd July at 13:30 for £25,000 in the South East - London company less than three years old. Designed to give Feeling Cocky something to shout about in the weekly update.

Monday 29th June, 2pm, £50k for small (but expanding, of course) 2 year old IT company, punningly entitled "E, this is one to invest in" In Lancashire of course. Reminds me of the Lancastrian monumental mason who, when asked to provide an inscription 'She was thine', supplied a stone which read 'She was thin'. Told that he had missed the E, he took it back and re-supplied the corrected stone which read, 'E - she was thin'.

Just noticed an announcement saying all C- loans have now been renamed to D, and yep they have, so I guess the first E may be imminent. Wonder if we'll get a sudden flood of them given there seem to have been a lot less loans available recently....

For extra credit, when will the SM filter on the 'loan parts' (buying) page actually have a check box for 'e' (or even for 'd' instead of 'c-'). 8>. Today.

Watch out for a loan application for a stock of materials for a small specialist bicycle tyre manufacturer who has spotted a niche market for tyres for four-wheeled bicycles:-
'E - buy gum.'
Fair to middling risk.

Perhaps there's a few bots out there which haven't been tuned up correctly so will just bid down to the MBR on each loan.
Or perhaps they're happy with holding these at MBR as they'll still be able to charge a premium and have the only 15%+ return on the SM....

I can see the E market being a re-run of the early C- loans, all going at minimum and being offered on the SM at below minimum. With an 18.2 min though I could well imagine them selling at 3% markup till the volume (and first defaults) come through. They should be a money spinner for a while, unless you have to blink of course - this one only lasted 4 minutes by the look of it. Edit; speaking of volume... no. 2 just listed. If autobid is not going to autobuy E loan parts, then the flipping thesis for E-bands would rely solely on manual bidders. Would this be enough market? or E-bands would become like property A-pluses that sell slower than they mature?

From the other place: Autobid will not bid on E loans automatically so you’ll need to update your settings to include E. So AB will bid as long as the buyers have included that band in their settings. As time goes on, there should be a growing number of these among new users as well as some existing users who have changed their settings.

Flipping relies solely on manual bidders on most occaisions anyway; as autobid doesn't buy anything with a premium.

Now that I can play with fire around the FC campsite, I suspect that I will spend less time over at Johnny Reb waiting for a page load.
