... it occurred to me sometime after jumping in that a couple of estate agent letters saying we reckon we could sell them for this wasn't exactly a quality valuation.... It may not have been a 'quality' valuation, but I suspect there's a good chance that a formal valuation would have produced the same answer -- along with a bigger invoice!

There is that....I wrote this assuming the loss (20 months interest is still a loss in my book) was due to a low sale price, before I saw the discussion on the default thread suggesting they sold for close to the valuation. Anyway given how badly it's all been handled, I can't say I'm particularly tempted to go back to them at the moment!
