Just curious - how are people finding the pre-funding is working so far - on the one loan (55)? Did everyone get allocated the same in the initial run - (£777)?

Try now... Update coming in a few minutes. I'm so glad that the pre-release testing is so thorough... In fairness, they've turned this around quickly to satisfy the move vocal of us on here, whilst also presumably being under pressure from at least one borrower to get their loan on the market ASAP.

Although this update (individual pre-funding for each pipeline loan) is great, it does give rise to some new problems: I know that in the last new loan I got 39% of what I wanted, so does that mean that for the new pipeline loans, I should roughly triple my pre-fund? Oh, but everyone else will do that too, so I should actually triple-triple my pre-fund amount. Oh, but some of the loans are only for 300K, so I would need to triple-triple-triple my pre-fund for those ones as they will be way more over-subscribed. By this stage wouldn't some of the big-hitters be well into the millions for pre-fund levels? I am thinking if I want £500 in one of the smallish loans (including one which is 5 minutes walk from my home where I know the property prices) then I am going to need to set the pre-fund for something like 25K? Or maybe everyone will think the same so I should set it to 250K?

Glad to see savingstream responding to my two main gripes in an efficient manner:
Availability of loan particulars/valuation docs before going live.
Ability to set pre-funding level individually for each loan. Well done. And with new T&C/Trust structure, I'll be looking to increase me investment. Having said that I preferred the previous pre-funding allocation method. This new method is going to bring out game theorist in all of us.. Unintended consequence I guess. |

I had missed out on at least the last ten loans and was getting to the stage of giving up with Saving Stream. Then the subject of pre-funding was proposed, which I consider SS to have approached with a rather conceited swagger, expecting us to fund loans we might ordinarily not touch with a barge pole. I voiced my vitriol on that subject earlier in this thread. However now Saving Stream have listened and acted, and while this system will take some time to settle down and our pre-funding targets will be all over the place, at least we have been granted the ability to choose which loans to fund and a guarantee of a variable proportion of pledged funding. So credit where it's due |
