Being a newbie p2p investor, can someone answer something for me for pre funding loans? Do I have to have the monies ready in my SS account for any loans where I want to pre fund in advance? No. You'll get an email telling you how much to send, and your balance will be -ve until your transfer clears. If you don't do it sharpish, you'll get stroppy emails, apparently. If you still don't, you may have the part taken from you.

No. When you are allocated a loan part your account will go negative and you will need to transfer the funds within 48 hours; 24 hours is better. Thanks

Thanks also I've only had one instance when I didn't pay for the loan parts within 48 hours, the loan parts bought were automatically cancelled and resold ... which is fair.

A couple of weeks ago I bought a £50 part shortly after midnight and then received a 'polite reminder' at 8:30am that very same day .............
