Hi
I new to the forum, but wanted to say I went along to the Roadshow in Leeds they held in January. It was interesting as they had borrowers, lenders and their 'borrower introducers' along (commercial finance advisers).
All the participant were very positive and they had a borrower and a major individual lender 'on stage'. It was great to see the people behind the website in person and all came across as genuinely wanting to add value to all stakeholders.
I have only dabbled with a few hundred quid on this site so far (I like the simplicity of the secondary market), but from what I saw 'in the flesh' I'll be putting a lot more on to it. If they have any more Roadshows I'd encourage you to go along.

It was a well attended Roadshow and the audience was very interactive in the Q&A session with some great questions particularly to the Lender on the Panel who seemed very positive about the site

Hmmm. I smell what may be a little bit of informal marketing here. New posters, first posts seem to be promotional, etc...

I'm not currently using Rebuilding: I take it this is a lenders perspective is it ?

Looks like typical forum spam. Both joined immediately before posting and not logged in since. Did they use the same ip address I wonder?

Did they use the same ip address I wonder? They didn't. :-) Still looks suspicious whichever way you look at it. Would be a good idea IMO if Rebuilding came onto the forum to deny the suspicion.

Hi All, I've let our members know about the forum, so I would imagine that is what has generated the posts: www.rebuildingsociety.com/rebuildingsociety-com-thread-p2pindependentforum-com/We don't have a forum on our own site, which can sometimes mean the Q&A sections of borrower's loans sometimes become debating grounds for matters better suited to this type of forum. Hopefully our lenders who are not already members on this site will join and contribute to debates across the piece. Best, Nick

I simply went to the roadshow, I liked it and I thought others might do too. Sorry if I'm not logged on all the time, but I have better things to do. The only reason I'm responding now is that I got an email about an hour ago saying that my threads had been updated.

Although the reaction was to your (and the other) post, if you've been around on forums for any length of time you will have come across the fly-by-night posters that turn up, post a positive review, and vanish. Don't take it too badly that you accidentally seem to have done that -- it's just suspicious minds at work Stick around. If you'd been a real spammer, I doubt you'd have posted back.

Part of a moderator's role is to monitor new sign ups. In the interests of 100% transparency we as moderators would be remiss if we didn't ask people who have associations with one or more P2x companies not to declare those connections even if those posters are posting purely in their personal capacity. I've updated mizmaze's account to show "Associate of Rebuilding Society". The mods are awaiting a response to a separate Private Message and at this stage it's possible another poster will be shown as an "Associate of Rebuilding Society" at some stage.

As I said, I'm very new to forums. I've had a bit more of a look around, and I think I'll give it a bit more time before I start another thread, but I am sticking around. Thanks again. Mizmaze

Agree with that sentiment. Setting up a P2P/P2B sounds as easy as falling off a log. It's in everyone's interests for the P2P/P2B models to work as the last thing needed is bad press. No doubt the presence of the FCA may send a couple to the wall or at least they will go semi-dormant. But a failed P2P/P2B will work against us all whether we are lenders/investors on that particular platform. Hence when a new one starts up, it's the eagle eyes over the T&C's, background checks, etc, etc simply because the lenders/investors, apart from not wishing to loose money, certainly do not want a rotten apple in the market.

That's why I started this thread. If you go along to one of the Roadshows you'll see how professional, serious, and committed to a great regulated user experience Rebuilding Society is. "Fly-by-night" would be an impossible way of describing them.
