Amazing how the MT SM has sold out in the last few days.
I had a few bits up for sale which had been on the market for a few weeks - just as part of my rationalisation and diversification programme. In the past few days all my bits sold in a rush.
Very good news and perhaps because more investors are migrating over to MT from other platforms which they have become disillusioned with.

Fickle confidence returned after Liverpool was taken in nearly one bite. The MT SM had been languishing after the flurry of recent defaults despite highly successful, monster repayments on the other platform.

More likely that people need funds for e.g. another platform

I've learnt the hard way that cashback actually means
i) the loan is riskier than usual, necessitating extra incentives to get it out-the-door ii) the loan will be highly illiquid after draw-down coz no one wants it
For these reasons I've moved from (a) getting excited by cashback and jumping in, to (b) ignoring cashback and now to (c) running for the hills when i see cashback.
Much rather have an increased rate across the term.

Fair points. But sometimes (ii) is only true at the start - initially it seems too big, but once it's filled, people then believe that they'll be able to sell it if they need to, so they're happy to buy it if someone tries to sell.

Picking up some nice smaller stuff most mornings and have moved out of some larger exposures which have been snapped up. This is a good time to tidy up what loans you have.

This is not the case with the Darwen loan on COL. There is always plenty of this loan available and it sells very very slowly.

Indeed. Whereas e.g. MTBA is often snapped up in seconds. YMMV.

Nothing to worry about - just the usual: some are looking to sell Manchester and Plymouth near the end of term. (Plus the already-existing Home Farm cottage nervousness.)

Is the SM always like this? Like what? Very often there's nothing available on the SM. Other times there's a lot for sale. Right now we're somewhere in between. There is no real "normal"...
