The speed by which loans on the SM market disappear make me think there are web-bots operating on the site.

Surely not !! You'd be the first to mention such a thing.

A number of forum members have positively asserted that no BOTs operate on SS, others have expressed surprise at the speed at which loan parts disappear and suggested that if a part disappears faster than a human can position the cursor, enter an amount and click to confirm that perhaps some form of automation is being employed.

I can certainly say that up to a few months ago, on the old site, the secondary market gave time/opportunity to manually bid and get something.
On the new site I have been unable to take anything (except an accidental 34p which the system allocated me instead of 300 £ on one of the first chances of use of the secondary market). I am 100% sure that at present someone is using bots on this market (and it is not difficult to write one to be honest).

I want to be able to direct it to any platform. I want to target any loan I want and get the best rates (for those platforms with variable rates). Thanks.

Deliberately sold three scraps from different loans £1, £0.37 £0.25 they all went to q***********n within seconds. So no good SS saying no bots operating.
What sane person would sit at a computer waiting for these to hoover up

I am not surprised that the same person bought all three pieces. I am actually grateful for such people as sometimes I put a loan part for sale and someone buys most of it leaving a few pence. Then I have to wait for someone to buy those few pence so that I can get my money.

I've had the same experience. Once the new site went live the speed of transactions for a large part of the SM has become "inhuman". It's not a big deal for me at present as my portfolio is well diversified but I can see it being a limiting factor for future investments.

How do I find out who buys the loan parts? If the banana trap doesn't work look at the 'investor activity' tab on the actual loan page. If it was a smallish sized loan part you may see yourself as seller and the purchaser/s. If it's a feeding frenzy you probably won't see a thing though. In Edit: Actually having just inspected a few loans it looks like they've reverted to just showing purchasers again on that tab, when the new site first went live it showed both purchasers and sellers.

So, I sold £2.40 of #25, and it was snappd up by .................. ............. q***********n
though I don't know how fast that happened.

I ended up buying it back myself, so that I could get the other 99.8% of the sold part credited... This morning, there were quite a few shrapnel parts sitting about for ages - minutes - including in some of the more popular PBLs.
