What's the new method? I have got 300 as well, but I have 4k ready on my a/c.... I think this is unfair. I never missed a payment or anything. Seeing some got 50 or 60% makes me me think this is totally wrong. They said a few weeks ago that for new loans under 1M - with this being the first - they'd be filling from the bottom up. Plenty on this board about it I missed those discussions. In any case, it looks to me totally bad that someone gets 100% and someone (like me) 6%. And no, I wasn't inflating my requests at all. I keep the good and lower size loans.

Investor activity shows m*************3 getting £8300...... A few bits have flashed thru the SM already - so maybe a whole bunch of people put theirs up for sale before it finished filling in which case it'd have hit the SM as soon as they finished processing in one lump (I've seen that on previous loans) and maybe this person got "lucky"

Investor activity shows m*************3 getting £8300...... I reckon thats what was left over once everyone got their £300 max. Rather than go down to pence they just stuck it on SM

Rather than go down to pence they just stuck it on SM I dunno, my cynical side is inclined to think that those with deep pockets will have some special arrangement - bit like AC.

Investor activity shows m*************3 getting £8300...... Curious! shame the investor activity does not show sales only purchases. I suppose £8300 could have appeared on the SM and snapped up but otherwise strange why any prefunder would have been allocated this much when the ceiling "appeared" to be £300. For the sole purpose of understanding the new process ( not a criticism!), it would be good if SS could comment on how this happened. LW

Investor activity shows m*************3 getting £8300...... Perhaps it was the bit left over after the distribution that was then thrown on the SM. Everyone (currently 1259 investors) could have had an extra £6 or so, I feel hard done by now! edit; crossed with everyone.

Investor activity shows m*************3 getting £8300...... We rounded down from c £310 each to £300 each investor as most people like round numbers. The £8300 was the surplus of c1300 investors x c£8 each. Everyone got £300 if they asked for more than that (apart from lucky m*************3).

But that's precisely the intention. The only investors to get 100% of their request were those who asked for £300 or less (apart from the SM remainder as above).I got 20% of my request but am realistic enough to have sympathy with SS in their attempt to be as "fair "as possible to everyone.Trust me, your request for £5000 will have been massively dwarfed by the "Deep Pocket" brigade so they aren't going to be very happy are they? Let's hope that SS bring forward enough large loans to keep them on-board.

Can we presume that M**********3 got that by an SM purchase or did you pick the lucky person out of the hat? Simply curious LW

So you were quite happy to put £5k into a £320k loan, you can't quite understand why that wouldn't scale, and you feel singled out and hard done by? Sorry, but... This really does strike me as the fairest way so far. You've got a bunch of people sat around your kitchen table, and a lovely freshly-baked cake. The cake isn't big enough to give everybody the size of slice they want. So what do you do? You give all those who only want a small slice that, then you give everybody else the same. You don't give half the cake to the fat b'std in the corner who wants the whole thing to himself, do you?

Yes we can confirm M**********3 bought the £8,300 via the 'Available loans' page.

Agree though that this is the fairest way forward, there should be a focus by SS towards min £1m loans (preferably £2-3m) and leave the tiddlers (<£500k) to the tiddler platforms!

I demand my share to the 40th decimal place. Shrapnellification is the future! Out of interest what would the % allocation been under the previous method?

If I have availability for 20k immediately and want to put 5k on this loan, I am not happy to get exactly the same as another investor asking for 300. I was happier with the previous system, even when I got 15% of my requests because that was what everyone was getting. I am totally unhappy to receive 6% of my request when someone is getting 100%. I am also very unhappy to see someone 'lucky' getting 8000k I am also very unhappy to see the SM literally bombarded by very fast bots... and SS doing absolutely nothing about it... (if they don't care, the only solution is to put down mine....tonight will prepare it!)

Bottom up seems to have worked well enough given the obviously massive overdemand on such a small (for SS) loan. As close to a 'fair' and even distribution as we're likely to get. I'm pretty happy with how it's been handled. Will never please everyone though......... £300 is at least a useable chunk, rather than the hopeless shrapnel the %age method would have generated. For ref: I prefunded much more than £300, no harm being optimistic , and would have kept whatever I got .....
