There has to be more to this than meets the eye because AFAIK transferred funds have to be manually placed on market as I have not yet found a way to auto place them as they arrive. Regular payments, which RS collects via direct debit, can be automatically placed at a rate of your choosing. At least, that's the claim of the wording on the page, although Gods know you can't trust that blindly, as I have moaned about elsewhere. 6.2% looks to have a good chance today.

There have already been matches at 6.2% today and they might go higher into the tail. There is a serious shortage of funds, which is nice while it lasts but a bit worrying all the same. RS don't seem to be doing a great job of balancing supply and demand.

6.1% is easily obtainable today, as a lender this is a great return IMHO.
In terms of supply and demand, I'd rather let the market decide, that's how we flow. Well never interfere here. Although you could argue if more people knew about RateSetter that would provide further liquidity but perhaps lower the rates. Or perhaps our lenders are expecting economic rates to increase in the short to medium term.....

6.1% is easily obtainable today But only if you already have the funds in your account. I have just transferred more cash into my account, and hopefully rates won't drop before I can use it. The one thing that p*sses me off about Ratesetter is there's no free instant transfer system (unlike AC and FC)

Perhaps some cash being diverted to other platforms offering higher rates, one starting with W ?

Yes, I would have put some more in if it didn't take until next Tuesday to lend it. By which time rates will be down to 5.6% (albeit briefly) until all of those offers get absorbed.

And quickly gone. There's regularly a few £k at low rates, nothing to worry about. As I write, the last match was at 6%.

I might start to look at RS again when 3 year rates top 5% and 5 years reach 7%.
