Erm.... Spend less ? possible - - - - anything else? You may still be under the influence of yueltide celebrations, but surely you can think of something? Steal a horse and become a highwayman, rob a bank, borrow money from Zopa at 5% and invest in SS at 12%. The options must be endless

The problem I currently have is that I do not have any more money to invest. I need to earn more. Any ideas short of a day time job? A night-time job? or give the apple tree outside a good shake......

There are obviously bots working on the SM but it is possible to beat them using a browser refresh extension to give initial warning of loans parts being put up for sale. I deployed £10+ today manually and could have invested more, although it is a bit tiresome and time consuming. The bots seem to take a few secs to snatch loans so on a 1 sec browser refresh one can normally nab a couple of pieces when someone invariably sells a several loan parts at a time. Fundamentally demand significantly out strips supply so there will always going to be a significant number unsatisfied investors. I don't think a proportional pre-funding allocation model would suit the majority. I had a taste of this when I invested on Market Invoice where they allocate new loans based on deployment rates of funds held on their platform, ie investments would be allocated to accounts to bring their % deployment rate to the platform average. At the time, deployment rates yo-yo'd between 50-70%. This created a massive cash drag to all users. Whilst my gross return on funds deployed was circa 12-13%, the net return was typically 7-8% due to dead cash sitting idle on the platform not utilised. I still think moving to a auction based or some other variable rate to temper demand is the best way forward in respect of access to opportunity, although none of us want rates to fall which would be the inevitable outcome at present.

BTW: bots do not alter or change the goals in the primary (raising cash) or secondary markets (support cashflow). Quite. I suppose that is why SS are not bovvered about them. As I have said elsewhere I don't like bots because I don't have the skill to write one and they put me at a disadvantage, but perhaps not an unfair disadvantage. They are not illegal nor against the SS T&C. Perhaps if the bots WERE against SS's T&C's, then not only would SS show they are listening to their customers, and score a great bit of customer PR for them, it would start to level the playing field for EVERYONE, and not just the few. I would love to hear savingstreams thoughts on the poll. ps, whilst bots do not change the goals in the PM's and SM's, they do not help them either. All they do is annoy the majority of their customers. Would getting rid of bots harm SS, no of course not. Would getting rid of bots show that the SS management team were listening to their customers, of course it would. There is no reason for bots to exist, other than to give some people an advantage over others, which sort of goes against the grain, when it comes to the philosophy behind crowdfunding

As a test, I've had about 15-20 instances today (4 in past 10 mins on loan 49 for £5k each time beaten by a***********y ) where I refreshed f5 every 1-2 secs & every single time I have been beaten. I am no slouch on the keyboard. There is no way, where we are talking about milliseconds for me to see the units just come on SM, place the order & still miss so many times in one day. Bots are certainly being used by some. Not bothered myself as am almost fully invested on SS but can undertand the frustrations of so many people now that I've had a proper go myself at trying to constantly to no avail

I was trying on those too. Not a bean. Did managed to scrounge £100 on 74 earlier though. So fingers can win sometimes it seems.

Not bothered myself as am almost fully invested on SS but can undertand the frustrations of so many people now that I've had a proper go myself at trying to constantly to no avail Up until now I have doubted the existence of bots on the SS SM. One of the main reasons is that I have been accused of being a bot myself and of course I know that I am not. I can just be pretty quick on the keys sometimes and in the past I have used a browser add on (but not much point now given that the available loans page refreshes every 4 seconds - if I'm more desperate than that I refreshed manually). So what makes me think differently now? Up until today, if I was quick, I would always be allowed to put a request in for a loan. I may not get it but at least my request would be on its way and then if I wasn't quick enough I would be told it cannot be placed. But today, it doesn't matter how quick I am, I can't even get a request in, the loan has gone already. I think it is impossible that someone could manually select a loan and get the request sent and have the system process it faster than I can just click on a link. So for the first time I'm convinced - this one's a bot (or some other sort of pre-programmed gizmo).

I saw this earlier on another loan .... again matched by a***********y .

I saw a £25k piece of pbl46 pop up earlier, r********t got in with £200 before a***********y snaffled the rest of it. Not conclusive as it might be bot wars, but I was only beaten to a bit of one of the Dorset ones by nano seconds - I did manage bag the last couple of quid that they were kind enough to leave for me, so it's not impossible and no I'm not a bot (although I have been described as an ar*e before now)

Hi
'Im m********3 and Ill be your bot tonight' Well theyve just snaffled all my bits plus 1 other that apeared but I had enough time to navigate from sales page to available loans and the loan was showing so must be one of the slower ones.
