... I opened up a Euro current account with Barclay's a couple of years ago to hold and manage Euro transfers to European P2P platforms. It took me a week to have functioning Euro current account (I had to open a normal GBP current account with Barclays first as I wasn't an existing customer). The great thing is there is no charge for the Euro account and you can physically deposit and withdraw Euro cash into the account - great for taking holiday money to the continent and redepositing the excess on return. For euros look at www.number26.de Looks good and I just tried to sign-up as free worldwide ATM withdrawals would be great. However, they currently only open accounts for those who have a residential address in Germany or Austria (which I don't being UK based).......so much for the single market!!

Sorry - they also do France I promise, I falsely assumed that meant they did the EU. Hi all, I have some money in a US bank account that I would like to invest but I am a UK resident. All the U.S. platforms I have looked into require US residence to allow lenders in :-( Is there really no way to make that money grow than to move it back to Europe? I would also look into setting up a company in the U.S. for the purpose, but I'm not sure how much red tape and tax would be involved... Anyone has any experience of this? Thanks Fed I have an account with www.interactivebrokers.com - quite easy to set up - I know you can have most currencies with them and invest in majority of markets - if you are looking for P2P exposure then you could buy shares in P2PGI or GLI finance and earn dividends through them. I think you need minimum $10,000 to open account. if you have $100,000 balance you can get margin account and can invest up to 400% of cash balance

Thank you for signing up to our waiting list. At the moment we're only available in Germany and Austria. We'll keep you up to date and get in touch with you as soon as NUMBER26 is available in your country. Become part of our vision! " So maybe service people in other countries, but as long as you have a German or Austrian residential address to initially register with (I suspect because of regulatory reasons). This is consistent with what they say on their website. Hopefully they will expand in the UK and elsewhere soon.

I guarantee 100% that they do France, with no need for German connection They actually advertise for customers here. The email is wrong. Can you manage one of the other places?
