thats stuck under the 11 string unfortunately. getting more and more grizzly tho. at some point if the world economy dives like it did in 2008 the effects are likely to be worse due to there being more debt around.

Here's the tota SM activity by hour for the last week or so (although I know for sure that some got through undetected). As you can see it is basically peanuts right now:
Count Total Speed Hr 00:xx 115 £36,609 16.9 Hr 01:xx 24 £1,578 361.5 Hr 02:xx 68 £87,463 3098 Hr 03:xx 28 £4,760 1677.5 Hr 04:xx 11 £4,824 12.5 Hr 05:xx 2 £2,361 68.5 Hr 06:xx 3 £300 23.7 Hr 07:xx 30 £2,491 21.2 Hr 08:xx 50 £8,387 16.2 Hr 09:xx 70 £13,434 15.7 Hr 10:xx 42 £12,686 17.7 Hr 11:xx 78 £23,880 19.9 Hr 12:xx 58 £36,144 15.2 Hr 13:xx 169 £44,233 14.4 Hr 14:xx 90 £31,160 15.5 Hr 15:xx 38 £19,632 23.1 Hr 16:xx 36 £6,307 17.7 Hr 17:xx 59 £4,436 12.3 Hr 18:xx 34 £12,280 14.6 Hr 19:xx 164 £23,552 14.5 Hr 20:xx 50 £14,200 27.1 Hr 21:xx 22 £3,832 16.0 Hr 22:xx 15 £3,182 37.5 Hr 23:xx 12 £7,508 28.8
Speed is the (unweighted) average of how long it lasted before being snapped up (or in the case of 2am, nibbled at gently).
(OK, actually it is nearly 10 days worth!) How time flies when you're on autopilot. 8>.

thats what i thought from looking at recent activity 3 times a day on the 4 biggest loans since the 'Sun' ''economist'' predicted a global meltdown on wednesday due to the baltic dry goods chart being so low. being a plumber im able to keep a close eye on the economy every morning at 10 am, using the sun AND the star. so, i 'forever stand porter etc etc'

The Sun economist is probably trying to panic some folks into selling their SS holdings on the SM, so he can get his money in. 8>. I think I preferred it when they kept the fiction on page 3.

Off to the US for a couple of months soon, so it looks like late evening there is the time to pick up some bits and bobs ... Certainly a better proposition than staying up to 2am here.

A number of 1p parts have just been offered for sale, and it looks like many buyers have decided that such micro-shrapnel isn't worth having. So those parts sat available for over 10 minutes, and thus probably will have a noticeable effect on the average speed statistics. Maybe GSV3MIaC needs to refine the 'speed' calculation so that it is a weighted average. Or perhaps just remove any sub-£1 parts from the averages.

Personally I don't see the SM currently as being a guide to anything.
I am fully invested across the 3 accounts that I manage. I hold excess in certain loans that I will be selling ..... but not until the pipeline loans start to draw down. If I knew I could sell and then replace I would sell now but that is close to impossible since I refuse to take part in the midnight - 2am sessions, so I'm sitting tight.
Yes the world economic news is bleak at present and the £ has been dropping like a stone so far this year but with markets now factoring in no change to interest rates until the start of 2017 (we all know how reliable market predictions are) am I overly concerned about my SS investments, no.
What concerns me more is that all the UK infrastructure projects are currently being given to non UK companies/governments. If a worldwide downturn really hits home I can see employment prospects here being as bleak as they were back in the 70's.

OK here it is with speed weighted by part size (so small parts basically vanish). If you want stacked graphs, I'll cheerfully provide the raw data and you can graph away (if by 'stacked' you mean each PBL to have it's own data range, that is a lot of series, most of them empty most of the time). If you want to buy on the SM, you definitely need a sub-10 second recaptcha-and-bid time (these averages are optimistic - the website frequently says the parts are still available when they aren't, and besides the granularity is only ~3 seconds)
