Hmm, but how about selling something we actually want to buy (I am past the 'any port in a storm' phase now). Stick around at about 13:30. I've been diversifying today, and done quite well. I'm putting 25000 back onto the SM; a large part of it will be loan 64.

Well that was an interesting exercise. Clicked on everything as experiment, not to buy, just to see if I could.
Conclusion. My internet is far to slow for this game, by the time the box had brought up the tick or pictures the part had gone. Got no pictures for the first 10 go's then pictures every time. Looks like its PF only for me from now on, which is fine as bar a couple of the small ones Im fully invested on anything I might want.

Pretty well the same for me.
I even feel a bit insulted that I've been drawn into the game this far.
It's as though Matey is actually watching the show & taking the p**s !
I would have liked to swap some of my old stuff for newish but I'll live without.

Well, I don't want to brag, but I personally don't know anyone faster on the keyboards than I am. I can accurately type at 78wpm and have the certificates to prove it (of course I'm a woman too) but that hasn't given me an edge over M or anyone else in winning parts. In three weeks I've managed to bag three bits. I'm very sceptical that someone without an additional aid can be that successful in beating us all to it so frequently. This record is probably out of date, but in 2005, Barbara Blackburn, of Salem, Oregon, was reportedly clocked at a peak speed of 212 words per minute…. Interesting article here as well; oztypewriter.blogspot.co.uk/2011/06/world-champion-typists-and-typewriting.htmlWell, I never professed to hold a world record! I merely said I've never personally known anyone who types faster than I can. The average speed is probably around 40wpm. I just know no one is likely to be able to win the parts because of typing skills.

I do not think that it is our individual internet connection that is slow. I think that there were so many people trying to access SS servers that they could not deliver fast enough. I experienced half rendered pages and on occasions had to refresh several times to see something.
I am not convinced that this is the way forward. There are better ways to deal with bots as SS knows.

Well yes, there is clearly an issue when the refresh check page comes back with '{"renderLoansIfAny":[true]}', meaning there are some available, but by the time the available loans page has redrawn, there aren't, or it says there are supposed to be £x available in loan pblxxx, but by the time you get to the pblxxx page(even if you teleport there) it says 'all gone'. It's a race, which even bots could not always win. Recaptcha does seem to be working as an ad-hoc allocation mechanism though - you may get a few free passes (per day?) after which you get pictures, and no hope (except at 2AM, when some parts hung around for AN HOUR .. can you believe it!).

I was illustrating the speeds that people can obtain. With regards to your comment, "I just know no one is likely to be able to win the parts because of typing skills", please just read again the following statement Saving Stream made. Saving Stream have previously stated, 'Fastest finger', which I have interpreted as superior speed typing skills... Can we presume that M**********3 got that by an SM purchase or did you pick the lucky person out of the hat? Simply curious LW Fastest finger.

Not much typing required, few digits Good point, but 'mouse skills' are of a similar 'skill set' to typing. As Saving Stream have already stated, 'fastest finger', we need to get into training... ilmoro, have you got any ideas on a training regime?
