My concern is with sites that are not transparent and make open-ended promises. I am much more concerned about platforms which are unprofitable and are burning money at a high rate so have an uncertain continuity, rather than guarantees backed by profitable companies. For example have a look at the loan originators working with Mintos some of which are providing buybacks for their loans. www.mintos.com/en/loan-originators/

I've had a quick look at the FAQ on Mintos. AFAICS the platform itself does not offer a buyback guarantee but some of the originators do. I would be more comfortable with that, subject to DD on the originators.

It would be interesting to hear everybody’s thoughts on why they chose the platforms that they did. Hopefully it will help others new to the game choose which P2P platform is right for them, and might sway others toward new horizons! 1. Which P2P site(s) do you currently invest in & why? Also what don't you like about the current P2P site(s) that you invest in.2. Which P2P site(s) did you previously invest in & why don't you now?

Like many of you I am winding down my Fiddling Crackers account. Have been with SS for a year and recently dipped my toes in MT and FS. I don't fancy the FS offering coming tomorrow. Saw a mention of Ablrate somewhere else on the forum. Can anyone with experience tell me whether they have a steady offering of new loans and how liquid is the SM. Also how good is their response to investors' queries.

Also how good is their response to investors' queries. Loans have been intermittent in recent months but the forward prospects sound better. The loans that arrive are generally good ones (the current short term 13% one is excellent). The SM is pretty liquid once you understand how to price loans (% up or down vs par at 100%) to give you a competitive APR. A few niggles still to be ironed out with the new-ish website (web developer let them down badly). Customer service from ablrateandy is excellent!

Most impressed. 2 hours later I've registered transferred funds and made my first investment AND I received a personal call from Phil - one of the founders. I know you said their customer service was good stevet but I never expected it to be THAT good. I'm on 4 other P2Ps and never had a personal call before!

Rhydian (RS) phoned me once or twice, and I've certainly spoken to Giles (Zopa) on the phone - at the the dawn of (P2P) time. (It wasn't even called P2P then!)

We are always available on phone, email, Skype Careful with words like 'always'.... someone may take you up on that whilst they are hunting SS SM parts @ 3am or similar and be unhappy if there isn't a response! That said, I agree with the comments on ablrates customer service, it's definitely in the positive end of the spectrum.

Insomnia and work. Two deals on my plate and trying to get the marketing spiel correct. Annoyingly they'll both sell in minutes, but I like the information to be well presented when I'm doing quirky transactions. The buzz of a busy office keeps me going.
