I am looking to diversify to another platform and have been considering ABLrate. I am currently with FC (winding down), LC (very small and not increasing), SS and MT (both currently increasing). The reason I am looking at another platform is not just to diversify across platforms but also to diversify across types of asset backed loans. How different is ABLrate to SS and MT in particular in this regard? What is the range of types of assets used for security and roughly how do they split within the platform (ie are they 50% property, 20% planes, 15% cars and the rest bits and pieces - I am not clear what is currently used so I am sorry if these are way off).
Many thanks for any guidance.

As for loans, the majority of loans (by volume) are aircraft loans, however, we are increasing the amount of capital equipment loans that are coming to the platform. There are also some other types of loans coming soon , such as aircraft engine loans and receivables that may be of interest to our members. If you take a look at the secondary market you will be able to see the types and spread of loans that come across the platform. Thanks for your interest in Ablrate Regards Ablrate

Many thanks for any guidance. Quite different IMO. Currently 60% planes, 25% SME, 2% property, 13% ST containers, plan3s will increase by 50% with new loan

Great platform; +ves: Clearly know what they are doing in a niche market, good comms, decent rates, specific assets with sensible LTV/resale values (planes & containers most recently)
-ves: Slow deal flow & complex SM (anything decent has high premiums) - this combination makes it very difficult to build a decent portfolio at par/sensible prices
Overall I like this platform & would love a much higher exposure but has been very difficult to achieve, I also like SS & MT but am now fully exposed to property/land so only reinvest income with SS. MT is nearer what Abi do but with different assets but they seem to have exhausted their current pawn partner for the time being (never thought I'd say that! ) & so have turned to property to continue their growth, I think the aircraft leasing market still has much more potential for Abi to tap into for the future.

Thank you everyone. I have now registered and am wandering around the site. It is looking promising to be able to branch out into other asset-backed loans, albeit with the comments made about speed of lending.
What are ST containers and plan3s? Are they sea transport containers and a mis-spelling of planes?

Hello Dawn,
I'm following the same path as you and for the same reasons. Lets hope it works out!
I've just made my maiden deposit and went through the "enter amount" and saw the account details but expected some sort of "OK - we will look out for your deposit of £x" type message.
Should there have been any immediate response? Sorry if this is a daft Q?

I deposit via debit card, it gets credited immediately and I get a follow up email from ablrate titled "Ablrate Deposit Made".....

Thanks, I'm just in the habit of using BACS with other platforms but I might try Debit Card method next time. It is more about knowing what to expect with a new platform. LW

The most fun you can have on ablrate is to over-deposit to fund a loan and then make repeated £20 withdrawals of any remaining cash just to annoy ablrate .

Thanks for signing up @ladywhitenapp . The boss is currently roaming an airport and he makes the transfers in. He's normally pretty quick on these things but any problems please message one of us.

Andy Thanks Andy, I signed up months ago and have been lurking for a while. I managed to transfer some cash in (and it is showing on my account now) and also get a pledge in on the containers. Whatever I don't get into that loan will possibly go into the current aircraft one if there is any capacity, in a day or so. LW
