And the winner is.... all those who predicted cancellation - and sensible well thought investments!!!!! Any one else think this is a good / right result? Judging by the SM activity I would have thought prefunding was pretty poor. I don't think SS had much choice on this one.

Just surprised that SS, with all the facts available that we see, plus more, still felt that it was worth going through all the stages up to announcing the launch of this loan. Have they found out something else we don't know about?
PS Disclosure - My prefunding was a three figure amount: £0.00

Do those who predicted this win some sort of prize? An SS mug perhaps?

I think it's important for future confidence in SS that we get an explanation of the change of mind.
This thread/forum didn't unearth any new information - everything was clearly laid out in the valuation report (which SS had received many weeks ago).
So, why the change of mind?

Maybe (in some part due to this thread) pre-funding dropped dramatically to the point where it didn't cover the loan amount. I doubt that personally, but in any case, I'm happy to see the back of it

The report is dated 15/Feb, so for 'many weeks' read "10 days at best". Presumably SS were watching the prefunding ebb away for most of today (which they would not have known until rather recently). I applaud their common sense .. maybe they could have jumped sooner, maybe they were hoping for more security to be forthcoming, maybe they just wanted to wait until they could switch it for the rather saner looking PBL84 (although quite what the money is for on that one is not yet clear).

Customer feedback, I imagine! SS presumably thought the loan was of acceptable risk (else wouldn't have offered it up) but the consensus on here clearly was that most weren't comfortable with it. Seems logical in that case not to proceed.

Liz probably forget to reset her gaming PF and is in deep I prefund on a loan by loan basis, and I'm not a fan of land(arable fine), which is far higher risk than property.

I wonder if you get a hotline phone number if you are a BH? Either way, it leaves egg on face

Confucius him say 'better egg on face than sh*t in fan" I agree; SS done the right thing in the end, and that is what is important. Unfortunately, I think in the short term they are going to get some flak .

Very odd! I have, more or less, always received savingstream's emails but do not seem to have got the one advising cancellation of this loan or the upcoming Scottish one tomorrow?!!
