Thanks for the pix. Gosh the innards looks like a cross between my old open plan factory and a multi-storey car park. I assume they get cardboard walls between the dwellings?!

The loan still has 279 days remaining so I don't see this as any issue. Yes, the building should be finished before the loan matures. Having missed the Sep.'16 date, though, will it end up quite vacant until Sep.'17? Will investors complete their purchases before there are good prospects for rental income? Could the developer refinance the SS loan if the building isn't very occupied? Some pix below. Thanks Please turn me over!

Gotta say, mikes1531 , that sounds a bit like a TV football commentator when at 0-0 after 20 mins a shot goes over the bar. Yes, I'm already missing MOTD.

Love the way commercial builders are now running even waste water pipes within stud walls. Ignoring the acoustics issues, I pity future owners needing to drill holes to fix mirrors, shelves, etc.; cables and copper pipes can be located inside walls, but lengths of PP pipe... ?

Acoustics - these are for students, alcohol induced sleep isnt affected by flushing toilets. I would assume they come furnished to standard and with a maintenance contract so drilling of holes of will be done by people with plans. Now as for your student trying to stick up a picture with a nail... (never allowed in my day - blutac or even white tack only) !!!

I heard a rumour that you even discussed a plan to make a vindaloo out of Vienna* for revenge. * and patent the recipe as Ilmoro Viennadaloo. PS there would've been plenty of flushing after a plateful of that!! PPS start serving that up in Yorkshire would send a shiver down the poor kids' spines .... they'd rename the place Shuddersfield!

I'm assuming that the pipe runs follow similar rules to electrical cabling so shouldn't generally be anywhere near where you want to fix things to walls. As for acoustics I think for modern building standards there is insulation in the gap between the panels rather than just being a void so a reasonable level of sound insulation. I must admit when I saw one of the first of these commercial student let buildings going up here in Coventry I wasn't convinced as to it's suitability or durability but it still seems to be going strong some 10 years on and I would hope that construction techniques and materials have improved since then.

Thanks for the update Please turn me overI was thinking I might find a couple of hours to go and look this over during the Christmas holiday, but based on the developers regular updates, i don't really think there is much point.
