There is a board for sites not open to EU investors which is inactive. We now have an increasing number of forum members who invest mainly in Euros, also members new to P2P who are only wanting to invest in Pounds, but the Euro sites have no board where they can be grouped together.
There are more new platforms all the time, currently 6 on the forum for Euro investment, so I wonder if it may be beneficial to separate out the various Euro platforms into their own section?

Sounds like a plan. "P2x sites with Euro investments" ? Trying to work out which the six are: Bondora, Mintos, Twino, Vivento, ... ?

James,
I am not so sure that tieing it to currency is such a good idea.
Currency may not stay a main differntiator.
E.g. Seedrs is technically prepared to do campaigns in GBP or EUR. Sure at the moment all (or nearly all?) campaigns are in GBP, but an EUR campaign could be run, should the company want it. And Investly one of the companies you mentioned above is entering the UK market.
Another idea might be to divide into - Consumer loans - SME loans - Property backed loans - Other and (already existing) - Equities sites
However that's not easy either as some marketplace would not fit clearly in just one section

Hi Claus,
I just feel that as altfi are differentiating between UK and European markets, with this being a UK based forum it could be easier if new people were able to read up on sites likely to be of interest to them. I am going to refer a friend in France to read the forum, but they would only want to invest with euros so it wouldn't be obvious where they should start reading.
Likewise most British people don"t want to get involved with other currencies so the Euro sites being mixed in could make the forum more confusing for beginners.

I understand this; I just think the underlaying currency issue might become less important and other factors will become more important for a distinction. Maybe we should let the poll guy run a poll

Or maybe a new section ("P2x sites dealing only in EUR investments"?) for sites that only (or mainly?) deal in Euros and have links back to the boards of sites that deal in GBP as well as EUR?

I understand this; I just think the underlaying currency issue might become less important and other factors will become more important for a distinction. Maybe we should let the poll guy run a poll I think for anyone living in UK and with no intention to move to €uroland (or at least to buy something really expensive priced in €uros) it would be utter madness to add currency risk. (I DO live in €uroland but still have ties to the UK so I cross both, but I do wonder sometimes if I am wasting my time with having GBP investments, it's just that the better rates and better info (and better understanding of the ropes) keeps me in. What is certain is that it is money I can leave for years if needs be if the exchange rate goes bad) So I am disagreeing, currency is a clear and relevant dividing line. Please correct me but I don't recollect seeing you on GBP boards in a fashion which made me think you were invested in GBP.

I have a large position in SS, a small position in Ablrate and a very tiny position in Rebs. I would invest in more UK platforms, especially would like RS, but unfortunately many approach it in the way that as an investor you need a UK bank account and sometimes even residency. Maybe it is a question of perspective. For the German investors the currency is no clear divide. Several are heavy into those UK platforms that are open and like me they see it as just another form of diversification. If it is sensible to spread your assets across different asset classes and inside p2p lending across different marketplaces then it is also sensible to spread across different currencies. Of course not if you need the money back in the very near future to pay for your cost of living.
Sry if that was a bit offtopic to the board organisation topic

As a UK based lender, I have no interest whatsoever in lending on Euro platforms and would welcome them moving to a separate board (that I can then ignore)
