Given that it has not been going six months yet, what a success it has been? I do not have the old Indie's Forums figures but it strikes me that this one has been far more successful than its predecessor and particularly in the number of visitors it attracts. I have not got a clue as to whether it is the wider base that makes the difference or the fact that it is truly independent. What ever many thanks to Andrew Holgate for getting it off the ground in the first place.

Credit also due to the the spokesmen for the sites themselves who have contributed to some lively discussion.

yeah great effort all involved. Surely it can only get busier as more and more stick 2 fingers to the banksters.

Can I also add, and say 'Thank you', to those members who have contributed to the threads and given some excellent advice to those of us who are newbies to P2P lending.

I think I can speak for the moderators when I say it's been a pleasure, with very little to 'mod' so far, and most of that youthful exuberance rather than maliciousness. Thank you Andrew for starting it up.

Yes, agreed, special thanks to the Mods - it is really important to keep this forum informal and good natured - modding nasty comments is not censorship - this forum works because normal people can post relevant things without fear of being flamed Jack

I wonder if FC realise how much this forum has spread the word about other p2p/b offerings available which, if they hadn't closed down the old board, many of us would not have been aware of?

I certainly spend more time here than I used to on the previous independent forum, and it'd generally been pretty positive. I'm not a big forum fan (I used to be a big Usenet fan - no moderation, distributed infrastructure, no registration, avatars, and grouchy editors .. OK, and "big need for killfiles"), but this one does better than most.

Glad people find the forum useful. I think I feel a mini speech coming on... Thanks to andrewholgate for starting it off, to the rest of the mods for their efforts in keeping things running smoothly and of course to all the contributors. Four and a bit months old; almost 250 users; 7,500 posts and about 12,000 page views a day. All we need now is for oldgrumpy to say "yes" and it'll be banana splits all round to celebrate!
