ilmoro: how do you carry out the searches on this forum? In this case I tried searching for provisional fund, then selecting posts by saving stream and it did not turn up anything. Your links did work however, thanks.

Your links did work however, thanks. What you did was right, unfortunately you just used the wrong term. Also avoid entering the term in the first box 'at least one word' as youll potentially get to many hits (all posts with fund or funds) so I used all the words - provision fund board: savingstream posts by - savingstream.

Thanks, ilmoro ; your post saved me time searching some of the more archived threads - and it appears that the 'ol grey matter is still serving me well, at least on occasion. And, yes, the point needs clarifying - savingstream ? The PF exactly 2% of the loan book which is where it has been for a while through various loan launches and pay outs. So I would suggest that it is fixed in its funding and that funding doesn't include sporadic payments from this source.

I didn't mean to start a big legal debate, and if everyone believes that the 'you own' field on the SM pages should show selling parts, that's fine .. in which case the bug that needs fixing is that it DOESN'T show my ownership of selling parts when it is the last one, I believe. Also if 'selling parts' are really mine, then I do believe I ought to have enough control over them to 'cancel sale', as suggested elsewhere (and maybe collect the interest, even if there is an equivalent selling fee charged)..

I suppose that you could surrender ownership when you put them on the SM if you wanted to but I cannot see why you would want to. I guess you would want the capital back if the loan sold or was repaid. Putting them on the SM is not the same as selling them back to SS. When you buy a loan you agree to the interest rate which is normally 12% but under clearly defined conditions can be 0%. Just like many bank accounts.
I agree with you that as you still own them until they are sold or repaid they should be included in any figure purporting to be what you own. Ideally with the amount on the SM also shown.

I think we need some input from savingstream to guide us in this.

I noticed something that is potentially more worrying.
I am going to use the following numbers to explain what I am observing.
I now that on the platform I have £10,000 (between money I transferred to SS and interest already paid) (i.e. not including accrued interest) I bought a loan part for £500 and to balance this I put up for sale £500 from loan PBL84 which was my last loan part for that loan (still waiting to sell). This loan disappeared from my loans page but shows under selling loan parts tab.
My balance should now read £10,000 and Live loan parts £10,500 if I still own the loan part in PBL84 which is selling.
Instead I see Balance: £9,500 and Live Loan Parts : £10,000
Also the interest accrued is out of sync with my spread sheet with the amount accrued on the £500 from PBL84 (although this accused interest is showing under the Selling LoanParts tab and expect to reconcile once this loan part sells.)
I am concerned by the fact that my balance is showing less than I actual amount of money I hold on the SS platform.

Worry not. It will balance again when the PBL084 part is sold.

Worry not. It will balance again when the PBL084 part is sold. I believe so, but should this situation not arise in the first place? Perhaps there should be two figures, what is now called the balance and another representing the total money one holds on the platform (invested or not).

I moaned about this bug in an earlier thread. Basically what it calls 'balance' is actually nothing of the sort .. at least not as far as I understand the meaning of the term.
