Well, that is almost what should be done, just a bad choice of terminology. fallon omitted to say that after clicking on "insert image", the URL where the image is hosted should be entered, then click "insert image". This will hot-link the image into the post. What should be avoided is the "Add Attachment" button which will upload a file to the forum server. The opening post by registerme explained this very well, I thought.

You can easily upload images to imgur.com then just paste the generated link. Do you have to be a member, I'm just getting a small box with an x in it when generating a non-member link, tried viewing from other devices.

Nope, no membership or signup required. So you're doing something wrong, I'm just not sure what  .

Nope, no membership or signup required. So you're doing something wrong, I'm just not sure what . I've just tried this and get the same issue...it just displays a question mark in a box..very frustrating!

Once the image has loaded 100% on Imugur then I just right click on the pointing device symbol and select "copy image location" pasting the url into the insert image box on the post. I actually find pikestaff's post in this thread the most useful - here. One thing I'm not very good at though is working out how you "right click" on a tablet or phone - always use my laptop for posting images.
Didn't see your previous post elliotn but as you use tapatalk a lot maybe it's a device issue?
