Oh what a tangled web we weave....
Oldnick used terminology which he intended to mean as a differentiator for different types/styles of 'investor' but did not mean it to be offensive or judgmental; c interpreted it to be derogatory and meant to say that it had been posted by someone on an AC thread but his use of "board" and bracketed text led to it being ambiguous; A of AC then in turn interpreted that to mean it was being said that AC themselves had posted something derogatory about Wellsley.
Glad to see that all apologies for misunderstandings that weren't intended have been made and duly accepted.

Do you know something the rest of us don't? The whole thing about a "black swan event" is it is totally unforeseen so, in that context, anything is possible and such an event could impact on, let's say; property ownership, pension funds, employment. We may all look back in a few years and be saying "how could we have been so stupid; it's obvious this was some sort of con!". I prefer to think it's more like; mobile phones, the PC and the Internet where naysayers were saying this will never catch on but clever people saw the future and invested in Microsoft, Vodafone and Google and we look back now and say it was obvious that this would boom. So are we visionaries or mug punters? Personally, I'm not an investor in a p2p business as I don't hold shares in one, I'm a 'consumer' of the services they provide. So I'm not in on the ground floor and standing to make a fortune if it all takes off. The possibility of such spectacular growth in p2p does raise the question in my mind as to whether relative newcomers as A* can retain the frontier spirit, and the camaraderie with their investors that they enjoy now when they've been in business for as long as, and grown to the size of, the likes of Z*** and F*, and then beyond even that. Disclaimer: this poster has not set out to slight, denigrate, criticise or condescend to any of the parties partially mentioned or implicated as likely to be included in the same category as those partially mentioned. The fact that only some p2p companies are partially mentioned in this post is not meant to imply that I am partially promoting them either. Whatever view you choose to take as a result of reading this post is fine with me and I agree wholeheartedly with you. Unless, that is, you're accusing me of any of the already mentioned negativity.

The Moderator moderating himself, what irony.
IN EDIT Saying F* covers most of them. I don't mean bad F*, just normal F*

Just discovered the furore (or storm in a teacup?) via a copied message to me.
Let me just say that I never meant to attribute anything to AC, nor indeed to a specific individual on this forum. I commented on the tone of a remark and gave my (differing) point of view about the benefits of a type of P2P lending. This was picked up by the originator of the remark, who apologised for the comment or the unintended interpretation. I had not taken offence though. That was that, I thought, until I read that someone else had taken offence (it seems at the something I wrote) and the word libel was mentioned. The matter seems to have been sorted out in my absence, so thank you, gentlemen.
The principle though is of ongoing concern. Is it going to be the case that before posting any comment it should be written in draft, reviewed after a minimum of two hours, peer reviewed by a moderator, and only posted if it passes all these hurdles? Is it worth posting here if people get so easily upset?
For the record, I am planning to increase my investment with AC since its model has some features which suit me so I would hardly denigrate it. At the same time, I like the Wellesley model for reasons previously given. AND, I fully understand why some people prefer only the labour intensive platforms - my priorities just happen to be different, particularly now that spring is here.

The Moderator moderating himself, what irony. Do you think I was moderate enough? I wondered if I came over a bit too strongly. I hope you're not offended?

Found this helmet that nobody seems to be using. It's got a rather funny smell though, is it - cat?

I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate WC for their world record P2P loan. Jolly good show. This shows shows that there is great potential, I wonder how long before this is broken again?

.... shimself, thank you for your comments, they are always valued. Please rest assured the auto diversification tool will happen and we are finalising some aspects before setting it live. Its major system upgrade (and industry first) and therefore we would rather test it many times rather than launch quickly and risk bugs. ... Any questions, please feel free to ask. Kind regards Wellesley & Co What news please about this; there's a new thread with much the same question, viz how do we know who owes us money?
