You are right of course andy2001, I've only done pre-bids. I'm assuming as you say that it will simply get rejected, as I see it we are testing the new system for AC and ourselves. £10 micro loan on AC.doc (115.5 KB) mikes1531 your description of how you put on those prebids is similar to my case, I think you give the best explanation if it was all my mistake playing with the keyboard, I might have put on two but five? In the screen shot above I've deleted some of the originals, put on the zopa microloan £10 then the other £20's later.

... That broughtup the pre-bid entry box, which was empty. I entered an amount, and clicked 'Place bid'. Something diverted my attention from my screen for a few seconds, and when I looked at it again my amount was still in the entry box, so I presumed nothing had happened and clicked 'Place Bid' again. In fact, I had placed two pre-bids, which I discovered later. This did happen to me once. Assetz should really lock the screen until the notification comes back, and the bid appears in the "Your Bids" box - and also clear the "Place bid" box. There can sometimes be too log a delay between pressing the button and getting the response on this transaction

I think it's safe to say that the pre-bid facility is broken.nothing happened to pre-bids at 9.55 and I was able to delete mine at 10.02.

But on trying to place a real bid --- I shoved Auto-invest aside, and went to the bid page, which somehow offered me the ability to prebid (10:15) and then it said: You can't do that in a live auction. Then give me a bid button! Got it back eventually, a bit of F5ing the page later.

My pre-bids are still there at 10:20, and the live loan page keeps flipping between "Preview Auction" and "View Auction". I placed a manual bid with the loose change in my account because the bank transfer I did on Tuesday to cover the pre-bids still hasn't hit my account yet. This is how it looks sometimes (the dark grey bit of the horseshoe are real bids), refresh and it's back to normal.

If you go to the Scottish loan's page, and click on "Overview *BIDS* Security...." And then swap from Auo-Invest to "*BIDS*" You get this :- "Prebid" screen ... (which then goes on to say you can't prebid) Attachments:

Apparently I've now got no prebids and no shadow bid. I shall put in a shadow bid again which should cancel out my (now non-existent pre-bid) because there'll be insufficient cash and insufficient shadow facility left...I hope. It's clear that (almost) no prebids have been converted. They were up to about 35% yesterday, but today only 17% bids are (apparently) in so far. I reckon they are stuck in the system depite mine no longer showing on my dashboard. edit: Well, I've done that, and for a brief moment, the "Your bids" window showed that I had made a bid an hour ago (my pre-bid)...then showed the new one.

My shadow bids appear to have been actioned successfully. My real worry here is the apparent lack of robustness in AC tech support given the understandable absence of Chris, who so far has done a sterling job. There seems to be a conspicuous and silent void.Is anyone at AC looking at this (or even aware)? Sorry, just seen other thread

Of course none of my pre-bids went on, but I think AI saw that I was wanting £130 and it placed a normal bid. The only reason I think this is that AI placed my bid at 10.25, 25mins after the auction started and it takes AI 25mins to got thru' all my mandates. I see jonno's bids also went on at the same time (10.26) when his pre-bids failed. I've mandates on most old loans. Sorry no jokes.

You get this :- "Prebid" screen ... (which then goes on to say you can't prebid) A couple of interesting observations on the screenshot mikeb showed... - The auction is showing 20 days remaining, whereas now it shows to be a 7-day auction; and
- The pre-bid panel clearly shows a minimum bid amount of £20, so it shouldn't accept a £10 bid.

Didn't even notice that (20 days) ... blinkers on focussing on the other problem! ... who got a £10 bid in then?

I put on a £10 pre-bid, of course the system didn't take any such bids on this loan so AI just put me down for my total investment. (Earlier in this thread I have post with an attachment, I can't put up screen shots directly.) I think Chris said in the future they hope to allow £10ers, tho' I'm not sure there's any great call for it.

Bid total has now passed 90%. Anyone who wants more of this loan than they already have probably needs to act pretty soon.

I chuckled on reading yesterday's update to this sorry default (#86). There can't be many P2P loans out there where the next step in the recovery plan involves waiting for the borrower's release from prison...

SteveT - gawd this is an old one that fortunately I managed to get out of before everything hit the fan. Having a peep at the activity, surely this should now be formally defaulted.
I know it will affect the perfect record stats at AC but seems to me as not formally defaulting especially in view of the legal advice received is living in fools paradise.
