OK - there doesn't seem to be a consensus as to whether interest is paid for the 'for sale' period or not so I have emailed Saving Stream and will post their response when I get it. I did ask a couple of weeks back and got a response. I'm sure I posted SS response on this forum but now can't find it. I can also confirm from recent experience that the above is true.

Thank you for clarifying what happens when you cancel a sale.

My response from Saving Stream regarding payment of interest on a cancelled sale

As long as you cancel the sale before the end of the month, you should receive full interest for the period.
