savingstream really hoped updates would be weekly........nice to be kept up to date with the progress of our hard earned.... I'd rather have updates when they're useful, rather than weekly "Nothing to report" burying anything relevant.

There are two separate problems.
1. The lack of meaningful informative updates, telling us when problems arise and what is being done about them. "Working to a deadline" is not good enough. What deadline? When?
2. Too many 'no change' notifications = clutter.
This can be made into a useful system by insisting upon (encouraging) at least monthly if not weekly updates for all loans. It should become a discipline at SS. Then if anything nasty happens we would be assured of knowing within a week. = meaningful and timely updates when they are needed.
At the same time, all the loans where there was no update could have their 'no update' status renewed not by a repetitive 'no change' notice every week but by a 'no change for the last X weeks' update. So instead of 10 'no change' notices we just get one - "no change for the last 10 weeks."
Each update would itself be DATED so we would know exactly when it was issued.

What I want is updates that are updates! In the process of reading today's 'General Update' email I have realised that many -- most? -- of the updates aren't updates at all, but simply repeats of updates that were posted some time ago. At least one showed a date of '1 month ago', and many were '3 weeks ago'. (And while I haven't checked these against ilmoro's summary list, my memory tells me that these are not new updates that have been backdated.) IMHO, the SS Update email would be a lot more useful if it only reported new info. Leaving out the repeats of old updates and the 'No change' comments would have left a very short list, however, and it would become painfully obvious to readers how little new info we're getting from SS..

A cursory view earlier came to much the same conclusion. About to do the full transposition now so we'll see how many are red and how many asterisked as repeats

Given that the updates are issued on a Friday I think it's always very useful if they include a weather forecast for the weekend.
In addition, if any significant political or economic event has occurred in the previous week I think it should be brought to our attention in the update in case we didn't know about it. A case in point is the general election which I was very relieved to be informed about in one of the updates a couple of weeks ago.
I also like to see the use of a number of up-to-date buzzwords which a lot of people don't know the meaning of but which none the less instil confidence and make you believe they know what they are talking about and your money is safe with an expert.

Material updates should be published on the website when known and the bi-monthly email should consolidate with more run of the mill updates.
Ly committed to publish updates within couple of WDs as part of their formalisation of defaulted loans but I'm not convinced this is being adhered to.

All loans from today back dated to the start of the loan will pay 12% Also, when the loan ends we should receive a 60 day repayment fee. A PF for PF should be established too.

If they could include a current "sustainable fish list" too.... that would be handy, especially now the most recent series masterchef has ended.
